  • Summary: This review is for the original Shogun 2 Total War and not for Limited or other special versions of the game. I haven't played Limited Edition or any other version so am not qualified to critique those. I also do not engage in multiplayer so I have nothing to say about multiplayer. If you're looking for critiques of any of the aforementioned then this review will likely be of no use to you. Also, thusfar I have only played the game on Normal difficulty.

  • Summary: I just piced up my copy of shogun 2 one week ago and i will say this you need a high end computer to play this game im runing on a 46gtxmobile on my laptop and so far all is running smoothly although the game does have a realy long instalation period in my opinion. I found stea to be a nice adition as well because it makes it much easier to play this game with a freind.

  • Summary: I've played every single Total War game to date. And I can tell you what they all have in common. Everything. Its been 11 years, starting with Shogun and after spending another wasted 50 on Shogun 2, I hope it ends on the sequel to this classic series. Total War has dozens of wonderful and amazing design features. It will always be a fun game. Its idiosyncratic habits.. are fun. Its campaign is both a fantastic time sink and a great source of entertainment.

  • Summary: Disappointing game. The company has been making this games for 10 years and yet level of innovation is insignificant. Exactly same unwieldy interface in pre-battle and battle sequences. If you select more than a single unit it will have completely random effects on movement. Ordering entire army to move without binding them to a single group will be interpreted by a computer as a decision to randomly send them all over the place. Which bring me to AI.

Shogun 2: Ain't Too Bad

  • Summary: Just for context sake let me say that I've enjoyed all of the Total War series (even Empire) and this product wasn't a Total Disappointment as it is quite playable, however in order to get full use of this game you need a group of friends playing with matching schedules. You should also know that you need an active online game service account to play which is becoming pretty much standard as DRM. Best Things: The game is visually beautiful. There are very few bugs.

  • Summary: A leaner, meaner return to the game that started it all. Shogun 2: Total War pulls out all the stops and stands out as the most refined Total Wars to date. An excellent achievement and a fine addition to the franchise which I will gladly dedicate hundreds of hours of my valuable life to. The Creative Assembly have done it again, well done guys.

  • Summary: About a decade ago Shogun: Total War was the masterpiece that launched one of the best Strategy simulation franchises in gaming history. It was a perfectly balanced game that combined turn-based strategic decisions with real time battles in a beautiful interface made in the style of medieval Japanese artworks.

  • Summary: Totally immense. Been waiting for this ages for ages, at last it is here and I just can't put it down! The graphics are sensational, out of this world! The siege battles were just amazing, probably the best bit of the whole game! I literally cannot put it down, I don't think I will be leaving the house for the next few weeks!
