Summary: This is my first foray into the the Total War series. It's an interesting game, with a good bit of a learning curve (from someone coming over from starcraft II). Once I finally got the hange of it, it plays very well. The turn based play with real time battles is a good twist. Plus the ability to use naval support for land troops (and bombarding towns, armies, etc.) is very welcomed. I'd recommend it if the price is low and you enjoy strategy!
Summary: so much fun. Excellent game. Things that need to improve... -The only thing I want to say is that the "stamina" is little bit bother me. it take really long to recover... -No formation at all... -Group many type of units, and move is suck... rifleman and spear/sword are consider the same type of unit, so when you are using formation they just mess up. -when enemy units are running away, the same type of unit can't math them in the run...

Summary: The second downloadable content pack for "Total War: SHOGUN 2", Fall of the Samurai deals, naturally, with the end of the samurai era and the beginnings of modern Japan. Fall of the Samurai takes place during the Boshin War of 1868. Unlike the Sengoku period of the default game, which was about warlords seeking their own power, the Boshin war is a dedicated "civil war" between those who support the Shogun and those who support the Emperor.
Summary: I have always enjoyed the TW games, from the first Shogun to Rome, etc they have always been fun and challenging. I dont really understand the review on here that says the game is too hard, I find that it is a pretty predictable and easy game to play if you use all of the elements of the game, such as agents, proper garrisons, proper navy strength etc.
Summary: In short, Fall of the Samurai is an excellent expansion that builds well on Shogun 2. The focus of the new expansion is the rapid modernization of Japan in the context of Boshin War. Within the single-player campaign, you will see a transition from the samurai units from the original title to gun-carrying and artillery units of the early modern period. As you would imagine, this transition is a big one, but the game maintains the same fluidity of combat of Shogun 2.
Summary: UPDATE REVIEW: I'm starting to more corrupted save files now and lost hours of game-play, very frustrating! Reduced rating from 4 stars to 2 STARS. It was fun while it worked though. As another reviewer has stated, it's best to download the game from Steam. Just get the serial key from Amazon, activated and download it from Steam. Amazon's game download service has always been slow for me. I usually get about 2/3rds of my speed.
Summary: First impressions are very positive - exotic setting, very polished interface, graphics and audio (the music score alone is worth the purchase). The game looks stunning after the DirectX11 patch was released. Battles are quick and deadly, castle sieges are a bit slower but more action packed due to the way they are performed. Strategic part of the game is involved, the expanded (over Medieval) diplomacy and character development trees are a nice feature.
Summary: These folks Sold me a game with a invalid key! Don't buy from them because they have no way of knowing what they are selling you. I asked them to send me another game and refund my money and that way I'm a happy buyer and I tell my friends and they wouldn't do that. Do not buy from these people!!!!! They don't get not even one Star from me!
