Really good game

R. Cruz ""so what else is there?"", Amazon
13 December 2012
  • Summary: The game mechanics and UI are revamped and really solid. I have been playing Total war games since the first medieval. I was really upset at ETW buggy release. But I believe CA has redeemed themselves with S2 ROS and FOS. If you can get this game on sale it's a great value.

  • Summary: Couldn't get it to install. after looking at screen shots of the of the DLC I don't think it would of been worth it even if it did work.

Best Total War Yet

AnimaGR, Amazon
24 November 2012
  • Summary: I am a long time fan of this series, dating back to the first Medieval Total War. The last title I played was Empire Total War which was also good but not nearly as refined as this game. Here is my breakdown of the good (+) and what could be improved (-) + Smaller scale.

Great game, very replayable, easily get your money's worth

  • Summary: Love the changes they made with the navy, which is now is as important as it should be. It is now very difficult to beat the game without a respectable navy. Multiplayer is tons of fun esp on campaign.

Great game.

  • Summary: Another great Total War game. Fall of Samurai and base game are one of best games I ever played. Epic battles, great graphic and much, much more. ...oh, and you can take third person perspective and use Gatling Gun...pretty sweet!

Fun but a lot of bugs

Greg, Amazon
16 October 2012
  • Summary: I love the game, the new characters are a lot of fun and I think it is a great continuation of the shogun series. The game still has a lot of bugs. You have a 1/3 chance that the entire map turns to ocean after a battle and you then have to save and reload the campaign to fix it.

Nice addition

  • Summary: It should be an option within the game, honestly. This game already has a full expansion with tons of DLC, at some point it would be nice to be appreciated as a customer and be thrown a bone once in awhile.

very different from old versions

Anonymous, Newegg
15 October 2012
  • Summary: Sometimes complexity is great in a game, not here. Too long to play even a few turns. The game especially suffers on the battlefield play which is just not up to previous versions. On the other hand, ninja are far more interesting and I really liked the expansion of unit types.
  • Pros: Country map is kinda cool. Multitude of new units, character development trees are interesting. opening scene is very very cool
  • Cons: battle map play is a real mess. Nowhere near the level of previous Shogun versions. Fighting, movement, all just a kind of mob thing. Individual units impossible to really watch or use in anything more than a very general way. I think they just tried too hard on this one, the detail with trade, c...

Great...if you have the hardware to run it

SV, Amazon
10 October 2012
  • Summary: This game is great. As a fan of RTS games and samurais, this was like a dream come true. Most of the bad reviews are not about the game itself, but the fact that this game requires a lot of hardware. I am running this on my ASUS G75vw-ds72, and it runs just fine although it can get slow at places.
