Summary: Love this game. It is like crack, and much better than Rome TW (which I loved also). One drawback is the level of technology advancement that is attainable before you have to conquer the Shogun. It seems that you have to choose just one or two paths, because the time runs out before you can really get advanced in different tech trees.
Great simulation, fun with friends and intense gameplay ! A+

Summary: Great game. The graphic are incredible, the whole gaming experience mind-blowing. I seriously have to calm down and think of my next move for several minutes before ending my turn. The co-op experience is a lot of fun. Japan feodal times are not something I studied or anything but I pretty much felt like it was taught to me through this game.
Summary: Loading time is crappy but gameplay is amazing! It would be nice if there were more units to choose from, but they did a great job with the game. I never play naval, as I don't find it as much fun, but that does not take away from gameplay.
Summary: I am still waiting for the boxed limited edition, but went ahead and ordered the download. Yes, I'm a diehard! So far I have not been disappointed. First, the game plays different than Rise of the Samurai and the standard game. I found that to be in-line with the technology and political time change represented in this version of the series. The tactics applied in the earlier version games will obviously require a different approach or recalibration.
Summary: This is a high-end graphics gamer's dream, with beautiful graphics the game looks quite amazing from videos I've seen. However, if your computer isn't at the top of the food-chain expect for a little bit of hurting in the graphics department. The game-play was still great though, and represented the Japanese warriors incredibly well. There is nothing i can criticize about the game-play, except there is no variety between units.
Summary: Another Total War edition. I was very happy to see a "local" campaign mission, instead of the all spanning global battlefields in Rome and Empire. Additionally, the concept of moving to a whole new theater type, moving away from a Europe central game was interesting. However, the gameplay took the rating from a solid 4.5 to a mere 2 since it is very USER UNFRIENDLY.
Summary: This is a great add-on to a great series of games, and for only $6! This add-on gives a lot of content and redirects the flow of the game. Instead of trying to overthrow the shogun and take over Japan, you start as a on of three families that will become the future shogun. The game changes certain aspects, you still create armies and still battle on a 3D plane, but there is more politics in this version.
Summary: I played the original Shogun, then Medieval, Rome, and pretty much focused on the melee type games rather than Empire or Napoleon. I have no experience on the multiplayer or avatar portions of this game. So far my experience is about 90 hrs worth of play on normal + hard modes and the domination mode and long campaign modes. Couple quick items.
