Summary: This game is a very competent game, and ends nicely too. Get it for cheap though. Unfortunately, some decisions made at the development time reduces it's fun value substantially, and may mean that it will not stand up as well as other point-and-click games over time (Syberia, Longest Journey etc.). The music brings nothing to it (to the extent that I found listening to Ambient channel from di.fm a good substitute).
Summary: I think that in many ways the SH-series is advancing, and this game is easily one of the best adventure games out there. Mind: if you more into the Longest Journey story driven-type (like me) and not the Pendulo/Puritas Cordis "make the stupidest combination without logic just to spend time "thinking" so the game feels longer"-type.
Summary: Best adventure game i ever played. Normal adventure will let u slove some silly puzzle and most of them r no connection to the story. But this one different, many of the puzzle r reasonable and will have player to think abt the case, just like u r the detective to deduct the crime scene. The atmosphere is also a great job, u will feel that u jus in the time 1888, and even some of the histo rical suspect include in the game.
Summary: If you enjoy games such as Dear Esther, then you will enjoy Jack the Ripper. Frogwares did a great job on the atmosphere of this game. A well told narrative, interesting characters and an overall atmosphere that genuinely conveys the horror of the time. If you play adventure games to savour the atmosphere, then Jack the Ripper will not disappoint.
Summary: This was a great game to play. There was an interesting take on the mystery of Jack the Ripper. It was a bit gory, but nothing compared to other horror-type video games. The only complaint I have is that most of the puzzles were on the easy side and I didn't like when Holmes would send Watson to fetch items. That part was a little tedious. But overall a great game with really cool graphics. You step back in time while you are playing and there is a good story.
Summary: lots of bugs. i have had to restart 4 times already because thing dont show up in your inventory.Or just not there to pick up. even if you save you never know at what point you will have to start over.
Summary: This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Had a promising start, but all in all unmanly. + Jack the Ripper +Nice police cloaks +London +Reasonably atmospheric -Jack the Ripper loses -Holmes doesn't die … Expand
A word of caution for the computer-impaired like me.

Summary: When I installed this game it said something about a BD-drive. I didn't understand what it meant but hit the okay button because it was on a CD. My computer now has a "disabled due to incompatibility" BD-drive instead of a CD-Drive that I'm going to have to get fixed. It looks like a great game if you have a BD-drive prior to the arrival but you probably want to check.
Summary: Good points: Fun and interesting gameplay, varied puzzles, good atmosphere and story. Graphics very reasonable considering it's not a very big games company. Bad points: Comically bad acting, badly synced dubbing, subtitles occasionally contradict what was actually said, puzzles in general too easy (though not all). Worth it if you get it cheap and like adventure games, provided you don' t expect too much, there's certainly some fun to be had.
