In Sacrifice you play a wizard who came out of a destroyed world. He fled from his world just before it was destroyed at the hands of a demon lord. Then he finds himself an unknown realm. In this realm are five gods, each of which could make use of your wizardry talents.

Now that line may sound as reused as the C&C game design, but be assured, this one reaches much further than all the rest.
Conclusion: In the end, Sacrifice is like riding a space shuttle. Its always going to give you a breath of fresh air, and it will be a ride that you cannot help but enjoy. A long ride, but a fun one nonetheless. Do not consider yourself a hard-core RTS gamer if you do not have this game. Shiny has shown us that when given time and tools, masterpieces can be forged. Well this is one Picasso that no gamer should be without.
Summary: Sacrifice is for any fan of role-playing or real time strategy games. The graphics are awesome, the gameplay is captivating, and sound is stellar, and it's a fresh whiff of air in a sometimes stale genre. Plus, Sacrifice is just WEIRD, and sometimes that's good. In this case, it's magnificent.
Conclusion: It isn’t just the visuals that are amazing, the depth of gameplay is equally impressive. When first starting out the game can be a shade overwhelming as it moves at a quick pace, but once the basics are understood it becomes simply a matter of strategizing. It is very easy to assign groups to hot keys for easy army management, deploying them without any hassles.
Excerpt: Anggh agg ahh ifk unngh ah wah. Oh, sorry about that… just had to scrape my jaw off the floor. Sacrifice is either the action man’s strategy game or the strategy man’s action game, but no matter how you look at it, it’s un-believably gorgeous.
Excerpt: Shiny has always been a strange lot. Earthworm Jim was their first hit, followed later by the equally brilliant MDK. Their previous release, Messiah, while solid in its own right, wasn't quite the product gamers had come to expect from Shiny. Sacrifice would be the next title in their development schedule and, after having read numerous previews about the game, I became interested in it despite having no idea what the game was really about.
