Summary: Many think that you cannot play this unless connected to the Internet, that's simply not true. One does need to be connected to check for downloads and upgrades. OK I'm simplistic in my way of doing things. I'm not an MMO person. My husband hooked me with RPGs with the first Sacred and I love this one. Better than the first one, I'll admit. But still fun to play. I'm looking forward to the when the expansion is released!
Pros: Easy to Learn, Engaging Story Line, Gameplay, Graphics, Great Sound, Multiplayer
Summary: Better be on net to play, will not unlock without the net access and it does not say this on the box. It only gives you one day trial before crashing out. Worst experience with a game in years. I'll stay with Fallout 3, no problem there... I have Sacred 1 and never had a problem like this. Bad game overall now!
Cons: Does not let play single, Have to be online to play, Non single player, Poor Instructions
Excerpt: "The original Sacred was an isometrically viewed hack n slash action rpg along the veins of Diablo 2. Whilst it was much slated for bugs, it was in fact an incredibly fun game, particularly online that held my interest for 4 years in total, a rare thing in a game these days. Sacred 2 is a prequel which attempts to be even more flexible and engaging than the original. ===The Characters=== Sacred 2 offers a choice of 6 characters for you to play, each ...
Pros: Tons of character customisation and replayability
Conclusion: If you have played Sacred you will know what to expect. Hack, slash, kill monsters, collect loot and go shopping. The narrative is somewhat vague compared to the first game but it's endless hours of mindless hack and slash fun - not to mention the joy of riding around on a horse. Sound effects are suitably earthy and it has retained its sense of humour from the first game.
Conclusion: This game is terribly buggy even after 1.1 gig of patches. Moreover, it introduces new bugs every day. Currently it impossible for the majority of the online population to create a game, and they are therefore stuck to play on public ascaron server, also unable to progress their online campaign status.
Conclusion: If you liked Sacred and the add-ons then this will be right up your street. A diablo clone with lots of free roaming with very little story to push you long. Lots of side quests but these are very boring. Main attraction is loot gathering and seeing how cool you can make your character look. With the newest patches solving a lot of the bugs that were in the release version you can rest assured it's stable enough to play with litte or no crashes. It's good but not great.
Conclusion: Don' t get this unless you have a pc built by nasa or you are an i t expert cos this game has been nothing but trouble since i installed it . Will take a few minutes to install.........yeah right more like half an hour an then when you put your code in it chucks you out of the game ! Far too many bugs in the game ....if you really want it ,wait a couple of months ......
Conclusion: Admittedly an action RPG is not a game that is expected to have much depth, but Sacred 2 goes too far. As you level up, you gain access to better equipment and skills, but then enemies also level up, so in the end it's all grind, grind, grind, level up, and nothing ever changes. Forget about tactics, varied quests or any kind of acceptable fantasy plot. You simply click on enemies and that's it.
