Good FPS/RPG hybrid

Summary: A game this old sure played well due to its quality story and game play mechanics. The latest update seemed to get rid of most programming errors. In fact, some of the effects like the thunderstorms were so real I did not notice it was really storming outdoors one day until the power went out :-) After playing the Fallout series I was a bit weary of the constant inventory management but that helped add challenge and realism to your strategy and tactics.
Summary: Got this one because well I like shootin' stuff and at this point I am not through or finished but can see that it is somewhere between 40-50% rpg and 50-60% fps of the sniper variety shooter....you know the drill go follow the arrows go ask some inane questions then go take out the bad guy....then follow the arrows ask some....ok you get the picture.....I'll just go on and give it four stars because for what it is it ain't wonderful but it ain't that bad either..
Summary: I didn't think this game was the best I've ever played. I didn't think it was the most beautiful game I've ever played. It wasn't the most technically perfect game I've ever played. It's hard to explain exactly what makes this game so classic. I suppose it's just the totality of the story, setting, and atmosphere that really does suck you up. It's a great example of how to integrate sound, graphics, story, and gameplay into a very enjoyable experience.
Summary: This game requires a lot out of your computer, so make sure you have a high-end system and good cooling. I have a 3 fan cooling pad for my laptop. Fun game, could have done better with the dialogue / plot / game economy, but the shooting is GREAT, probably the best first-person shooter I have played.
Summary: This is the most realistic shooter I have ever played. Sure you can heal instantly but eating 8 sausage rolls but trust me thats a good thing. Guns shoot like they really would(meaning very inaccurate)And you carry only a small amount of items. But realism doesn't always mean fun, but in this case it does a good job. A little buggy and dialog is crap but all-in all a good game.
Summary: If you liked Fallout 3 you are probably going to like this. There are so few games out there with this kind of setting and gameplay, post-apocalyptic, open world, FPS. You should know though that this game is not perfect at all and is one of the few that almost require mods. Since this game was made in Eastern Europe a few years ago, it looks like it was made in Eastern Europe a few years ago, but with the 2009 Complete Patch its brought up to nearly modern graphics and...
Excellent, fun, and wanted to play more when it was over.

Summary: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl has made it onto the short list of games so good that I didn't want it to end. The action, environment, sounds, and visuals were very well thought out, and produced a very immersive gameplay experience. The first-person role playing perspective was well designed, with more subjective indications of critical values such as hunger, health, fatigue, et cetera, that give more realism to the gameplay.
Summary: STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl is one of those games that - like so many releases from European developers - sort of slipped through the cracks in the North American retail market. Sure, games like this get reviewed on gaming sites, but don't typically get much fanfare in stores. It wasn't until it hit the $10 bargain bin that I noticed it, and even then, I didn't think it'd be something I'd care for.
Summary: I have to say i had this game years ago and found it a hassle loading all the patches to get the thing to run decently on my Dual Core Pentium Unit with 3 gigs of ram . Yet having the patch work done , the game still had issues running correctly. But since i have had great success using Steam Games i couldnt pass up the Cheap Offer On Steam to buy the Bundle and run the game again . Well to my suprise .....
Summary: When I bought this game, it arrived in no time flat. (From where I bought it, I thought it would take at-least a week and a half but it showed up in 4 days.) I recommend this game to anyone who likes Shooter RPGs. Without the patches, the game is quite buggy and tends to crash in certain situations. (Example, during an important battle.) With the game patched, it's wonderful and bug free. The Computers (Enemies) in this game are extremely intelligent and challenging.
