Rogue Trooper – Second Opinion

18 February 2013
  • Excerpt: It might make for a very boring second opinion, but the only area where Andrew and I diverge on Rogue Trooper is that I think he scored it a hair too low. It's entirely true that Rogue Trooper could be classified as a standard third-person military combat game, but it's also a perfect example of where flawless execution and intelligent design make the difference between something that's average, and something that should be recognized as noteworthy.

Rogue Trooper Review

29 September 2007
  • Excerpt: It's amazing when you sit down with a game that you had the lowest of expectations for, only to find an incredibly well put together experience. It certainly doesn't happen that often, but Rogue Trooper from Eidos and Rebellion is one of the most impressive third-person shooters in recent memory.

  • Conclusion: It may however be frustrating for some to play the game, which seems to be predictable and far too quick; this game remains to be such an enjoyable game to play alone or with your friends.

Rogue Trooper – Review

29 March 2007
  • Excerpt: Rogue Trooper' s comic book origins suit it remarkably well. Perhaps unlike the grand baggage that came with the Judge Dredd licence and helped make Rebellion's Dredd vs. Death a critical underachiever, Rogue Trooper only benefits from effectively embodying its source material's bold presentation and lack of pretension.

Rogue Trooper Review

25 May 2006
  • Excerpt: Rogue Trooper is a third-person shooter based on the 2000AD comic of the same name. In case you don't follow British comic books, Rogue Trooper is a gritty sci-fi strip about a genetically engineered soldier named Rogue who fights in the perpetual war that wages on the planet of Nu Earth. It's an interesting premise, and the story translates well into a video game, allowing for some unique gameplay mechanics.
  • Pros: Varied missions and fun, intense battles, Interesting story with compelling characters and fairly good voice acting
  • Cons: Short single-player campaign, Minimal multiplayer modes, although there's nobody online to play against anyway, Controls can be unnecessarily awkward at times, Inventory management takes all of the excitement out of the battles

Expert Review

6 September 2013
