It teaches you guitar quickly, but only if you want to impress friends...

Summary: I was surprised how in depth Rocksmith is. I am an avid piano player, but had never picked up a guitar before. I got this after my brother recommended it to me. After playing it for over 40 hours, I can say that yes Rocksmith can teach you to play guitar, but not in a "complete" way. I was able to pick up my play speed and build up my calluses by playing this game. However, it focuses too much on just covering songs, so that you only learn to play a wide array of licks.
Great as a game, slightly lacking as a teaching tool

Summary: If you already know how to play and just want to play for fun, this game is great. It can also be used as a guitar "teacher", but in that role it is slightly sub-par, due to a lack of a clear path of progression. The best results will be achieved by getting lessons from a real human teacher combined with playing around in this game.
Summary: Got this for my son who has been using you tube videos to learn different riffs and this proved so much better. The software has taken him from the basics to much more advanced areas. His favorite has become the bass chords and he especially likes the fact that he can lean at his own pace.
Summary: It would be unfair to give this product a 5 because at the moment I am incapacitated and unable to play my guitar at all. However, I am giving it a 4 because it looked amazing when I checked it out without playing.
Summary: I purchased this after I watched my son, who plays in a band in Chicago, using it. It is a heuristic guitar teaching machine. I thought it was the greatest most enjoyable way to learn the guitar I have ever seen, and I have played the guitar for 40 years. The software is picky about the guitar. My Gretch Electromatic works great, but it does not recognized the notes very well on my Fender Jag.
Summary: Bought Rocksmith 2014 for pc, couldn't download extra songs without original rocksmith. They don't seem to be doing anything to resolve the issue. Wasn't happy with that, but overall its a fun game.
Don't buy the Download if you don't have the cable.

Summary: Edit on Dec 30th after about One week playing the Game. First I feel gypped after paying $29.99 for the cable and its current price is about $14.00. So far there have only been minor problems with things like twice in having to unplug and re-pug up the cable to the USB. I've had ZERO glitches otherwise. The game runs like lightening my PC and never crashed. One other problem is that it thinks my Rouge Bass is a guitar LOL!
A personalized tutorial/ teacher for you to learn to play an instrument.

Summary: For the price now, you can't complain. It is better than the famous Guitar Hero and RockBand games. Probably not 'as fun' but they teach you step by step to actually learn how to play the instrument, since you use the real thing. Gameplay advaces the difficulty as you improve your skills while playing, adds more frets and strings and chords. At the end they teach you the real song.
Works, but requires tweaking to make it work with Rocksmith

Summary: It took some fiddling to make it work, but gets the job done. Should work in other applications than just Rocksmith as it's presented as an audio input device. If you have trouble with Rocksmith detecting it, go into your audio input settings for the device and make sure the input volume is turned all the way up.
