  • Summary: It would be unfair to give this product a 5 because at the moment I am incapacitated and unable to play my guitar at all. However, I am giving it a 4 because it looked amazing when I checked it out without playing.

Touchy, but great way to learn the guitar.

  • Summary: I purchased this after I watched my son, who plays in a band in Chicago, using it. It is a heuristic guitar teaching machine. I thought it was the greatest most enjoyable way to learn the guitar I have ever seen, and I have played the guitar for 40 years. The software is picky about the guitar. My Gretch Electromatic works great, but it does not recognized the notes very well on my Fender Jag.

Don't buy the Download if you don't have the cable.

  • Summary: Edit on Dec 30th after about One week playing the Game. First I feel gypped after paying $29.99 for the cable and its current price is about $14.00. So far there have only been minor problems with things like twice in having to unplug and re-pug up the cable to the USB. I've had ZERO glitches otherwise. The game runs like lightening my PC and never crashed. One other problem is that it thinks my Rouge Bass is a guitar LOL!

A personalized tutorial/ teacher for you to learn to play an instrument.

robwolve, Ebay

  • Summary: For the price now, you can't complain. It is better than the famous Guitar Hero and RockBand games. Probably not 'as fun' but they teach you step by step to actually learn how to play the instrument, since you use the real thing. Gameplay advaces the difficulty as you improve your skills while playing, adds more frets and strings and chords. At the end they teach you the real song.

Works, but requires tweaking to make it work with Rocksmith

Beau Steward, Amazon
1 December 2013
  • Summary: It took some fiddling to make it work, but gets the job done. Should work in other applications than just Rocksmith as it's presented as an audio input device. If you have trouble with Rocksmith detecting it, go into your audio input settings for the device and make sure the input volume is turned all the way up.

Recommended for any guitarist, beginner or not!

  • Summary: GREAT tool for beginners AND skilled guitarists! My brother wanted to start up guitar just for fun for a couple of days, and by the time his "trial" for the instrument was up, He was actually playing REAL, PROFESSIONAL songs! I have been a guitarists for about five years now, and i LOVE how fast this progresses/refreshes techniques such as harmonics, bends, slides, and just ordinary scales!

Impriovement over first Rocksmith game. Wish songs were more of my tastes

cmiller0034, Ebay
16 November 2013
  • Summary: Really good for guitar practice. Fun minigames, Song selection is a little disappointing at moment. Also I was upset that I had to pay for the songs in RS1 to be imported into this version if you already own the first game. I was under the impression that it would be free. Well at least its an option. The virtual band is a neat idea. Overall improvment over first game.
