Summary: First off I loved the first Rocksmith and played it for dozens and dozens of hours. I was incredibly excited for Rocksmith 2014 and got the PC version as soon as I could (I've had it for ~10 months now). The first version of Rocksmith worked flawlessly. The 2014 version not so much. I have 3 different PC's and on each one the original Rocksmith works perfectly and 2014 fails (in a different way on each one).
Summary: Extremely poor product! I don't know about Xbox and PlayStation versions, but PC version just won't work properly. Too many problems. I have installed it on 2 computers; one being an older PC which just makes the minimal requirements for running this software, and the newer PC with much more powerful configuration, way beyond the minimal requirements of the game. It does not work properly on either one. First, the game does not always want to start.
Summary: First, get ready to have Steam installed on your computer, which is apparently a way for them to protect themselves from piracy and provide you with downloadable purchases. It also socializes your experience by forcing you to have a "Steam" account. This infuriates me as I don't care to sign up for some third party provider in order to use the game I purchased.
Summary: I won't repeat what other reviewers here said about the technical problems about this version for PC and Mac. It's enough to say that it simply will not work. Period. I received mine today and after spending almost 4 hours trying to install it on both my MacBook Pro and my HP Pavilion notebook, without success, I have already applied for a return of the item and subsequent refund. While I wait for the refund, I'm still going to try the PS3 edition.
Summary: Please note. This review is for the PC version of the game. I had seen great reviews of the game so bought the PC version. Boy I was in for a lesson on how to fix my PC. Instead of a plug and play game, I spent days upon days fiddling with configuration files and USB drivers. Changed PC, no play, changed windows version from xp to win 7 to win 8, no play. Finally had to give it up and return the game. The only good experience was the easy return policy of Amazon.
Summary: I've had nothing but problems with the cable to my guitar. When it does work, the sound is not in synch with the video. Overall a good idea that did not work. I do have the right hardware to run this.....the quality is just not good..
Started out well, but seriously messed up Mac OS X

Summary: While I had high hopes for this product, it didn't take me long to notice that the primary mouse button (on pad as well) no longer functioned after the installation of Steam (required for game). What happened next was hours of misery trying to uninstall Steam which autostarts every time you boot. What's more, during installation it required security/accessibility authorization, after which it locked the setting. Dealing with this made me very unhappy.
