Conclusion: A really good story but spoilt by the twitchy graphics and bizarre unwanted slomo antics. Somebody put a lot into the game but it is badly flawed. I have an AMD Phenom 9699 Quad Core running two gigs of memory and a Radeon HD3870 Graphics Card. This old game brought my PC to its knees. Not an easy trick .
Conclusion: I run a well-maintained PC with Athlon 64 4400+, 2GB memory and NVidia GeForce 7800 GT card. This game got as far as the opening sequence but could not move my shuttle from its starting position underneath the alien craft in order to get to the orbiting space station.
Conclusion: This game looks amazing and the concept is great. Ships with blood, very original. The story is also fun to follow and the skirmishes are filled with interesting different little things for each map. One problem however is the lack in variety of ships. You get Light, Medium, Heavy, and Mother ship (excluding Lab and harvester) These ships are very customisable in the type of weapons and abilities you can give them but they do not vary very much between themselves.
Summary: Advent Rising is the first in an epic trilogy of action/adventure games, presented in a stunning cinematic format to deliver an unprecedented variety of game play experiences. Built on the Unreal Warfare engine, it offers precise, refined play-dynamics with action-packed adventure and style, wrapped in a visually imaginative universe. Advent is akin to a fast-paced action movie where the player is swept up in a continuously evolving series of sequences and events.
Summary: The action-packed game with superb cinematics is one of the best games ever made. The musics, cinematic, and unique action make it a hit. The Xbox version had some major bugs, but the PC version is CLEAN with no bug!! If you have a NVidia Graphic card with 128 or 256 MB ram on it, you will experience a very excellent gaming experience. I do not recommend it to the computers with graphics lower than 128MB. It cannot be played on those.
