Summary: It was indeed a fun game. The only gripe I have is the abrupt ending. I thought I'd get to sail off with Sally or something after the big end fight, but suddenly credits appeared. There was no going back and reaping the rewards of having done all that good for the island and its inhabitants.
Summary: One aspect I found were a tad crappy is the small amount of weapon and armor-upgrades. Especially armor; you only get new armors for every new chapter. Playing mage was also very boring. It's like playing a WoW-mage with 3 spells and a few scrolls. Fighter was more interesting imo.
Summary: I agree almost on anything you said Vader, I'd just like to add my couple of thousand of cents.. I loved Gothic 2. It was just an awesome game. I can't say it had something in particular which could stand out, but it felt just... right. And even though i played a lot of games after it, I still remember how amazed I was by it. But lets put nostalgia aside and get back to Risen. WHAT THE FUCK! Seriously what the fuck have they been doing all these years?
Summary: "...you control a nameless hero with no backstory except that he was a stowaway aboard a ship that got caught in a massive storm. Shipwrecked on the shores of an unknown island..." Is this from Age of Conan?
