Summary: "The situation gets even better once you get the hang of the combat. At first it may seem a bit clunky, (another element Risen inherits from its spiritual predecessor, Gothic)" VERY clunky. The whole gameplay is; moving, fighting, interacting. I couldn't take it for long in Gothic 3. This time around, playing the Risen demo, I knew what to expect, so I didn't give it as long a chance to prove itself. And it didn't impress me.
Summary: I agree with the review for most case, though it could use some more analysis. I also didn't see a large amount of bugs, but I might have just been more lucky. The main plot could be a bit more complex, but the individual quests were fun. Exploration was great. The hand-crafted world is probably the best part of the game. In my view, the graphics were very good on PC, and particularly lightning and sun beams looked great in an open world.
Summary: It was indeed a fun game. The only gripe I have is the abrupt ending. I thought I'd get to sail off with Sally or something after the big end fight, but suddenly credits appeared. There was no going back and reaping the rewards of having done all that good for the island and its inhabitants.
