Summary: This review is based upon Windows 7 (64 bit) and it is assumed these comments will apply universally to all PC users. Also, this is the first ever Review written on Amazon though the writer has many Amazon purchases over the years. Therefore, the reader can rule out a Review written by a constant complainer. I have a modest Internet service provider due to being in a rural area. The ISP has a "fair access" policy that limits downloads to, roughly, 60 Meg per hour.
Summary: What is with 777? I purchased their Wings Of Prey and it loaded & runs perfectly. Their Rise of Flight is a complete nightmare! I have an i5chip, 8 megs RAM, Windows 7 and terabyte disk storage and couldn't get this thing loaded...had to pay the Geek Squad $130 and their tech said it was the worst game loading job he's experienced in years. Shortly after the tech left, I discovered I have nonstop "shaky screen" syndrome and guns won't fire..
Summary: I have tried numerous times to get this game to run, but it won't. I have a brand-new Windows 7 computer with an Intel iCore5 processor and an Invidia video card. I have 6 Megs of RAM. I've been to the web site but there is no way to contact the company directly. There are some FAQ's but the ones I need are locked. Extremely disappointed.
Summary: I am deployed and pay 70 flipping dollars a month for an internet with a top speed of 9.5 kbs. Rise of Flight requires a constant Internet connection and also requires a much faster bandwidth to play. Yes you can play and my rate but I can't control the plane due to the latency. Don't buy this troops.
Summary: I bought the PC downloadable version. It took so long to download the game (even though I have broadband!), that at midnight, I went to bed. The next morning I went to my computer and found that there was an error in the downloading! I then turned off my anti-virus (Kaspersky), and it then downloaded in less than an hour--still a long time, but I figured because it has such great graphics, that there must be a lot to download.
Summary: Took 4 hours to install, patch, register, and sync joystick controls. Game crashed numerous times after getting messages that the connection to Russian server was lost. Ran game with optimal machine on Windows 7. Stat compilation in campaign mode feels more like sports tallying as opposed to a pilot career.
Summary: Apparently this sim is not compatible with Microsoft 7. I attempted to register it 3 times to no avail, therefore, I can't start the game. The description in the ad should state which systems won't work with this game. Of course, once you open software, you are stuck with it. Good gimmick for the software companies. I paid about $40.00 for it, and I will take $30.00 incl shipping for it to cut my losses.
Summary: This game is one of the worst exceuted flight simulations ever. First of all, the game is way too complex to run efficiently on anything but the most robust gaming PC's. Second of all, the flight model is so choppy you cannot hit the side of a barn without flying into it. Finally, some one should check the intellectual property rights, beause it this game seems to be a complete copy of Red Baron from the late 80's. Save your money and buy something else.
