Summary: I really want to thank the authors of this game for reminding me why I quit gaming 10+ years ago. Lured back by the only game that could do so,...a WW1 flight sim. Not Red Baron or Flying Corps. Not a game at all, but the promise of an actual flight sim based on WW1 aircraft. Is it any good? I'll probably never find out.
Summary: Rise of Flight is an unusual flight simulator in that it is hardcore, but simulates a period of history when the mechanics of combat planes were simple enough to be easily learned. This makes it approachable in a way that many hardcore flight sims are not. Summary: bought it on amazon, tried to register it on the Rise of Flight website. It asked me for the registration code, which I don't have. They sent me an email telling me to follow the link to complete registration. Followed it, got the game registration screen, that's where they asked for this registration code. Sent an email to them, explained that I don't have any such thing. THEY said that the place I purchased it [amazon.com] has to send it.
Summary: I am sick and tired of developers who try to nickel and dime me to death by charging absurd amounts of money for DLC that should have been included in the original game. Summary: The Rise of Flight series are about the only games available that provide a PC experience in WWI aerial combat. The graphics are beautiful, the sound realistic, and the action sequences are fun. It does take a long time (it seems) to load the sequences, and unless one flies the "fly now" option, there is a lot of time "just flying along" before combat initiates. Overall, a fun game.
