Excerpt: The premise of RF Online is simple: three races, namely Cora, Bellato, and Accretia, clash for domination over a resource-rich planet. It’s up to the players to weave their own fates and the fate of their own kind in this interracial war. PvP in this game is inevitable, but thankfully, the game offers a good chunk of PvE experience as well. Quests are plentiful at early levels, and gradually decrease as you achieve higher levels.
Pros: Massive-scale RvRvR battles, meticulous character building, player-controlled politics
Cons: Inflated economy, absurdly long time to build up characters, numerous bugs and exploits
Excerpt: For any and all online games, pick two of the following: [-] good [-] free [-] MMO I think you have noticed that it is impossible to have a massively-multiplayer online game that is both good and free from that test. There are some good games out there, like Penumbra, that you can get for free. But RF Online is a free MMO, without the good. Do the math. First off, you probably found this by Google-searching "Free futuristic MMO". You read the rules and stuff.
Excerpt: All I can say is "wow"! I came across this game by pure chance, and hadn't really heard much about it before. And honestly, the game looks awesome! Yes, you read right... this is a game that I feel is going to be absolutely awesome. The graphics are spectacular, the sound is superb, and the best part is for right now it's in BETA so it's free to play.
Conclusion: Wrap-Up: Concluding all this, I can say I definitely liked this game overall, but the grinding feel to it is a real let down. Music and graphics, though I haven't really touched on them, are pretty well done as well. I must admit that the in-game storyline is completely lost to me. I haven't found a single trace of it since I read the lore. I say if you like to put yourself to the test against other players, in an RPG-like environment, this may be the new MMO for you.
Excerpt: Rising Force Online, otherwise known as RF Online, recently entered the US market. For over a year this game has enjoyed success in Asia, with tremendous success in developer CCR's home country of Korea. Recent reports claim the game has over a million active subscriptions within that country alone.
Excerpt: I have to say that I’m inherently biased towards most games that have Transformers in them. RF Online (Rising Force Online) does not have actual Transformers in it, but it does have a race called the Accretian Empire that do look a little like Transformers. So of course, when I got the game I decided to play as them. The Transformers are pissed off at everyone because their home planet is out of resources.
Summary: Un nouveau monde, Novus.
