Resident Evil 5

Adventure Classic Gaming
19 June 2010
  • Excerpt: The Resident Evil series has earned legions of fans since its debut in 1996, having begun on the original PlayStation then flitting from console to console with subsequent iterations. Every now and again, a title in the series gets ported to the PC, usually long after it has worn out its welcome on whatever console for which it has originally been developed.

Resident Evil 5: Desperate Escape

Defunct Games
9 March 2010
  • Summary: A year after releasing Resident Evil 5, Capcom is back with the exciting conclusion to the story. In this Jill-centric DLC we get plenty of zombies to shoot at, a tense countdown to worry about and a brand new sidekick that barely says a word. And even though it doesn't contain a single haunted mansion, Desperate Escape more than makes up for it with its all-out action.

Resident Evil 5 - Desperate Escape Review

PlayStation Universe
8 March 2010
  • Summary: A thrilling, tough-as-nails action romp that should appeal to anyone who favours Resident Evil's more action-orientated antics.
  • Pros: The spot on difficulty level, The chance to finally play as Josh Stone, Teaming up with a friend for some superb co-op action
  • Cons: The short lifespan, The recycled enemies and lack of any innovative touches, The absence of a proper boss fight

Resident Evil 5: Lost in Nightmares

Defunct Games
26 February 2010
  • Summary: Nobody can fault Capcom for putting the suspense back in the Resident Evil franchise; I only wish there were more genuine scares. As it is, Lost in Nightmares is a solid adventure with a compelling location to explore. It's marred by a short (and insanely easy) campaign and a boss fight that was literally pulled directly from Resident Evil 5. The price is right for this expansion ... it's the length that is all wrong.

Resident Evil 5 - Lost in Nightmares Review

PlayStation Universe
22 February 2010
  • Summary: An immersive, cinematic experience that excels in atmosphere, scares and exploration. It might prove a bit of a culture shock for those used to the action-orientated antics of RE4/5, however.
  • Pros: The scare factor, The superb mix of puzzle solving, exploration and combat, The gripping atmosphere
  • Cons: The short play time, The fact some narrative elements are not expanded on enough, The final boss falls rather flat

Test Resident Evil 5

Generation NT
11 January 2010

Resident Evil 5: Desperate Escape Review

The Game Reviews
13 December 2009
  • Excerpt: Capcom has spent the past month filling in the holes of Resident Evil 5, with the mid-February release of Lost in Nightmares and several costume packs keeping veteran zombie hunters busy. The second and final downloadable mission, Desperate Escape, has finally landed on Xbox Live and PSN, giving survival horror fans yet another reason to
