Test Red Faction Armageddon

Generation NT
24 July 2011

  • Excerpt: The Red Faction series carved its own niche ever since the inception of the franchise back in 2001, by letting players interact with the environment in new and exciting ways. And when we mean interact, we mean tear everything down with a big hammer until there's nothing left. 2009's Red Faction: Guerrilla marked the jump to the current generation of devices for the series, and impressed through its wide open world, even if its presentation lacked polish in areas like...
  • Pros: +Polished destruction gameplay, +Great graphics, +Fun Ruin mode
  • Cons: -Lack of an open world, -Claustrophobic atmosphere

Red Faction: Armageddon

Thunderbolt Games
6 July 2011
  • Excerpt: Imagine you’re a colonist on Mars. You work the Martian soil without a space suit, breathing oxygen and living under an atmosphere, thanks to a terraformer your ancestors established and maintained. Now colonist, imagine that a group of terrorists attack the terraformer and bring it down. What’s the first thing you would do? Fix the terraformer, right? Doing so would put you light years ahead of the residents of Mars in Volition’s Red Faction: Armageddon .

Red Faction: Armageddon Review

PlayStation Universe
6 June 2011
  • Summary: Red Faction: Armageddon takes destructible environments and turns it into a weapon, perfect for those who like massive devastation. While the single-player campaign is a bit bland and linear, the action is still top notch.
  • Pros: Using the environment as a weapon, The massive weapons, Online Ruin mode is a blast
  • Cons: The main campaign and story are a bit dull, Too many linear sections, The limited online modes

Red Faction: Armageddon

  • Excerpt: Last month, I had an opportunity to check out Red Faction: Armageddon at a preview event in San Francisco. At the time, I was impressed with what the game had to offer. The single player campaign was engaging, the Ruin mode offered up some mindless carnage, and the Infestation mode was a hoot. Needless to say, Red Faction Armageddon was shaping into a significant upgrade over the previous Red Faction game (Red Faction: Guerilla) which was release in 2009.
