Summary: Nice railroad sims games. This one has all the expansion packs included at no additional cost and is cheaper than buying the main game and then the expansions. The graphics are NOT in 3D but I still think it is a great game. If you want a 3D game then get Railroad Tycoon 3.
Summary: I have been playing this game for years now and it's the kind of game that once you start playing, you will play for weeks. For the full experience, however, make sure you check the net for more maps and more scenarios. There's a whole community of people who have added tons of modifications you will love. Excellent, excellent game!
Summary: I am not a train buff by any means. However, I have found this game to be addicting. It allows a great amount of control over what you are doing and is involved on a level on par with that amount of control. Its an older game, but I wish people would take this model and apply it to something newer. Best "blast from the past" I've had in a while.
Summary: Excellent scenarios. Much better than first edition. The variety of places, real & imaginary, is enough to keep anyone amused for years. The addition of the ability to "set out" part of your train at one location & keep the rest, and/or pick up additional cars for a new destination is a tremendous enhancement & creates new options for shipping freight. I wish this was available for MAC. It was advertised that way, but only available for PC (IBM compatible).
Summary: The Platinum Edition lumps the original game with several add-on packages. Let's start off with a few things: Yes, this is an old game. And, yes, you can probably pick it up for $20 (or less). And, yes, there is a newer version of RailRoad Tycoon out. But I personally don't find the newer version to be as much fun as this one. The graphics aren't striking. There's no whiz-bang 3-D animation. There's only strategy.
