Summary: I wouldn't be able to count the number of times I underestimated the difficulty of this game, only for it to brutally remind me that being a Railroad Baron isn't as simple as its cut out to be. Took me months to figure out the stock market and build bridges over large expanses of water.
Summary: Those of us who love history and geography, or who just love railroads find this game to be an all-time favorite. On a newer system, the edge-of-screen scroll is way too fast, but it can be worked around.

Summary: The replay value is almost unlimited. Graphically the game is starting to show it's age but real gamers don't care about the graphics, it is all about the gameplay and Railroad Tycoon succeeds at that on every level. Still very highly recommended.
Summary: If you are a student of logistics you will either really love or hate this game. For me the game is addictive. I'm almost fifty and enjoy a simple game that on the outside looks simple but is complex. This is a game where no-one is shot or killed.
Summary: I bought this game to replace a very old beat up disc that I've had for many years. One of those games that I just keep playing and it never gets old. The next game in the series, a 3D one, (not sure of the exact name), was not nearly as fun.
Summary: Well, it's not a 10 and a little better than an 8 but it's definitely NOT BETTER than the origional. The ai is paultry to the ai of the origional game in which I lost and have never lost a game of this.
