Rage PC Game Review (Also Available on PS3 and Xbox 360)

techbargains.com
10 August 2015
  • Summary: Rage is flawed and at times frustrating, but above all it's an entertaining shooter. Yes, the save game system is busted, there isn't much in the way of independent exploration, and the story is only there to advance the action rather than grip the player.
  • Pros: Mad Max Meets Rambo:, Visually Spectacular:, Varied Weaponry:, Solid 15 Hours of Gameplay:, Enemy AI and Combat:
  • Cons: Save System Sucks:, Tedious Missions:, Graphics Glitches:, Guided Gameplay:

Rage

GamesRadar
3 August 2012
  • Excerpt: After spending just a few hours in Rage’s world, we were overcome with a feeling not just rare in videogames but in any work of fiction: We actually wanted to live there. It’s a more comfortable version of Mad Max, with all of the cobbled-together and lawless excitement but without the horrific...
  • Pros: One of the most beautiful games ever, Awesome FPS gameplay, Nifty driving as well
  • Cons: Racing minigames are superfluous, Some noticeable pop-in of textures, Disappointing last section

Rage

ActionTrip
10 October 2011
  • Conclusion: So, I am still confused. In order for a game to be considered something worth your time and money when you finish it, you should be left with either the desire to jump back in and have another go at it or fond memories of the experiences and challenges you played through.
  • Pros: Great graphics, stunning character models, production that mixes equal parts Fallout, Borderlands and Serenity;
  • Cons: Game is far too easy even on the hardest setting, numerous bugs on the PC, linear game play, questionable story development.

Expert Review

Green Pixels
4 October 2011
  • Conclusion: if you're using a GeForce card. After tweaking, Rage runs smoothly and texture pop-in is minimal. What's more disappointing are the extremely limited default graphical tweaking settings. You can set resolution, antialiasing and brightness, and that's pretty much it.
