Summary: One of my favourite games of all time. Played millions of multiplayer matches, finished the story mode couple of times, perfect blend of action and strategy (yes strategy!). Making it slower than q1 was great move for me, because You got time to think not just test Your reaction time :). Graphics are not that great now, but You can clearly see who Youre shooting to and whos attacking You One of my favourite games of all time.
Summary: I take back everything I said about Doom being the best shooter ever. THIS is the best shooter ever. It's much better in graphics, controls and an even higher puzzle factor. If you're into shooters, get this. And it's another great title by Activision.
Summary: My old copy of Quake 2 had light scratches and complaints from a grandson pushed me to get another copy. I bought it used, and alas, it also had faint scratches. It worked (most of the time). I figured it was an honest sale. I knew I was getting it used and figure I got what I paid for. My grandson ? he's mostly outgrown it now.
Summary: Ok, so this is my first Amazon review I've ever posted, sot his is a new experience. Let me start by saying this is a great game... not because it's really dense in story or because the controls or weapons are so groundbreaking... but because it evokes old memories... particularly because this is one of the first games I've EVER played (not a big feat as I haven't played that many games, but anyway).
Summary: I have to say I did like this one juuust a little more than Quake and Mission Pack 1. With only two new realms this time (but of course, no halt on the action) you're given new weapons and enmies, again, including LAVA nail ammo. MULTI Rocket and grenade launcher, and a powerful blast of lighting from the Thunder Gun. And of course, a show down with a mighty mythological creature of legend.
Summary: Though not quite as awesome as the original Quake, Quake II still offers plenty of entertainment as you embark in a futuristic hell to defeat flesh-rotten cyborgs. More types of Guns with the ever so awesome BFG.
Summary: Quake 2 had big shoes to fill, and it did so magnificently. Quake 2 is set in the future on an alien world, with a whole new set of weapons and enemies. While I preferred the dark castle theme of Quake 1, it was nice that Quake 2 went a different direction instead of rehashing its predecessor. Most of Quake 2's lasting value comes from its well-designed network code and modding Quake 2 had big shoes to fill, and it did so magnificently.
