It can be fun I guess

Richard A. Rossi, Amazon
29 November 2014
  • Summary: I picked this up on Steam for $5. It can be fun I guess, but the combat is sloppy and annoying. Depending on your attack, your character may or may not make up the distance between you and your target. Your character has super powers, but things happen so fast it's hard to view your health meter.

  • Summary: A great hack and slash game. If you are a person that values gameplay way more than graphics, this might be the game for you. Not visually stellar with very dated graphics that the game has, but some really cool combat and abilities.

Ridiculous

Anonymous, Newegg
22 August 2009
  • Summary: It would have been great if you were able to use all of the abilities they provided you with to be more tactful and stealthy instead of just fighting 30 different enemies at once; a couple of tanks, a few guys with rocket launchers, two or three extremely powerful monsters, 20 guys with machine...
  • Pros: You get to use amazing/fun abilities that an make the game great at times. You have amazing power right at your fingertips to control the world around you. i.e. tanks, helicopters, weapons, etc. At the beginning of the game it's really fun.
  • Cons: As you go continue through the game, it gets to the point where there is just too much going on. Once you get hit, you start getting juggled all around the place by hits from every side. There doesn't seem to be a way out, and all of the sudden you are dead. Instead of having to use more brains t...

Terrible Support, Entertaining Game

AlgeBrad, Amazon
13 August 2009
  • Summary: (The first paragraph is a game review; the second paragraph is a product/support review) As long as you approach Prototype with tempered expectations, and recognize it as an action game and not a deep plot-driven game, you will be pleased.

repetitive gameplay

vvv, Amazon
13 August 2009
  • Summary: Having rarely played video games of any kind and not played at all for years, we were impressed with the graphics but every level, the avatar is leaping, climbing and then flinging, smashing things/people and that's it - a lot of it. So it's work.

Only appeals to those with 6 second attention spans that enjoy ripping bodies in half.

Anthony B., Newegg
2 August 2009
  • Summary: Games with this much potential and this poor of a delivery make me sad. I've been playing PC games since the 80s, you name it I've played it, and Prototype is not going to be memorable even a few years down the road.
  • Pros: Open world, lots of gore, combat is fun for the first hour or two, story isn't too bad if you don't mind ignoring all the obvious flaws in the logic. It's a superhero game after all, so logic doesn't really apply here. Some of the superhero powers are genuinely cool to use for a while, but none o...
  • Cons: Here comes the list: monotonous graphics, design flaw after design flaw in the camera, controls, and game design, story makes no sense at all even after I beat the game, there's way too much padding in the form of side mission minigames to make you think the game is longer than it really is, and ...

Totally not worth it.

Helgie, Amazon
30 May 2010
  • Summary: I hated it. Still 2 stars, since it's worth trying, but in truth, I really did hate it. Perhaps it is because I Played this after Assassin's Creed 2 which was amazing and my expectations were high - but fact is fact, this game is not to my liking.

Really reaaly dull

Mr. B. F. Mildred "Ben", Amazon
24 October 2009
  • Summary: I lasted about three hours before quitting and never returning to it. In short the story is overly long, convoluted and is so stereotypical as to be excessivly dull. The combat is fun but again gets boring very quickly. The graphics are okay but I expected more.

Nothink new.

Matthew Blakemore "matt", Amazon
11 August 2009
  • Summary: Its already been done i played the incredible Hulk when it came out and when i started with this it just felt the same. Running around the city jumping off rooftops and throwing cars around etc. I just didn't feel like playing anymore after 30min or so. To sum it all up its boring...
