Primordia

DarkStation
7 January 2013
  • Conclusion: Primordia definitely has some caveats when it comes to storytelling and pace but the story is interesting enough to warrant a play through. The world you inhabit as Horatio is dark and beautiful and the voice work is topnotch.  Characters have a lot to say and it’s all worth hearing, and the puzzles will keep you intrigued as the story moves forward. There’s a dark and meaningful story within Primordia and despite the rush at the end, it’s a story worth hearing.

Strategy Informer

  • Conclusion: Only a few clunky systems, a couple of irritating puzzles, and a brief playing time let the game down, and none should put you off buying. Between this and Machinarium it seems post-apocalyptic adventures in robot civilisations are a safe bet for excellent puzzling. Well done WadjetEye, that’s another great adventure game to add to your ever-expanding catalogue.

  • Conclusion: None of this is a knock on what Wormwood Studios has achieved, however, as every part of the game screams of the passion and talent of its developers. Like other indie designers Wadjet Eye has taken under wing, this team has proven itself a studio to watch. For their first outing, Primordia is already a great game, and I look forward to seeing more from them in future.

Primordia

Thunderbolt Games
5 December 2012
  • Excerpt: Some say that the time of Gods passed so that their creation, Man, could be given the chance to carve his own era. And it’s also said that in the end, the story of Man will also come to an end. Primordia takes place well after the final chapter of humankind, who, like Gods themselves, left the cycle continuing with Man’s greatest creation: Machines. It’s unknown what exactly happened to the humans.

GAME REVIEW – Primordia (PC)

Alternative Magazine Online
24 July 2013
  • Conclusion: Primordia is a good game – but it’s kept from being a great one by its uneven difficulty and mood, coupled with overly pixellated graphics and underwhelming sound effects (although the understated music is rather nice). It’s a shame that despite only clocking in at 5-6 hours, Primordia feels like an overly long game.
