Summary: Praetorians is definitely, to me, the greatest strategy game of all times, because it's not only the first game I have ever played since i was 10 years old but also stands out in contrast to other mainstream popular strategy games like Age Of Empires thanks to the complete absence of resources ( gold, food, wood,...).
Summary: I haven't played all the way through this game yet, however what I have played has been pretty fun. It's a great deal for the cost. Although you can occasionally get it a bit cheaper on STEAM. If you are into this kind of game I'd give it a go.
Summary: Praetorians I first played when I was 6, Still the best Game for the Rome time period. Forerunner to RTW Everyone should know before they judge that this is not anywhere NEAR Roman:Total War in a 1:1 comparison. Limited units, factions but still fun. Long campaign presents a challenge on easy mode. If you are an RTS gamer you WILL like this game, But not In the way you would like Roman:Total War. Get the game anyway It's five dollars to download, can't hurt.
Summary: Don't mistake this game: it was not designed as a budget game. It is from 2003 and was great for its day... you can really tell when you are playing it. The gameplay is simple but quite fun. I would almost go as far as calling it elegant. The replay value is the main drawback here, as the game does not have as much variety as I would like, but for this price it is still a steal.
