Poker Night at the Inventory

destructoid.com
2 September 2013
  • Summary: As a wise man once said, "You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em." Okay, that was actually Kenny Rogers’ "The Gambler," but it works in regards to Telltale Games’ newest title, Poker Night at the Inventory . It’s the second time Telltale’s made a poker title (the other being Telltale Texas Hold ‘Em back in 2005) and generally, poker games don’t usually get the gaming world too excited.

  • Excerpt: Poker titles on the PC can be a real crapshoot, pun intended. For every game like Stacked that you get, you get a half dozen games like "Reel Deal Poker." When I first heard about Poker Night at the Inventory and the fact that it only offered one form of poker play, I figured that this was going to be another in a long line of poker related flops, again pun intended.

Review: Poker Night at the Inventory (PC)

Diehard GameFAN
25 April 2011
  • Summary: For five dollars, Poker Night at the Inventory is a fun little game if you are a fan of any of the characters at the table. However, the lack of multiplayer of any kind and a poor AI means this isn’t a title for seasoned card sharks.

  • Conclusion: into their Team Fortress 2 gameplay sessions. It’s a very crafty cross-promotional catch that will entice gamers to get Poker Night at the Inventory if they own Team Fortress 2 or vice versa: go out and get Team Fortress 2 after playing Poker Night at the Inventory. Especially considering the ridiculously low price of the game: just 5 bucks.

  • Excerpt: I don’t get the whole poker craze that’s swept the nation over the last few years. Yeah, it’s fun to play with your buddies and all, but come on, watching people play cards? Count me out. Poker with the Heavy from Team Fortress 2 along with Tycho from Penny Arcade , Max from Sam and Max and Strongbad from well... Strongbad ? Now that’s poker I can get behind. At least I thought it was. The good news? Telltale Games’ Poker Night at the Inventory is really friggin’ cheap.
