Summary: great collection, the first is fun and scary, but the second only perfects. puzzles are engaging and difficult if not frustrating at times since you have to figure them out for yourself with little to no clues. which isn't necessarily bad since most games hold your hand. graphics are great in second and expansion and not bad in overture. gameplay is fun but sometimes tame, till they surprise you that is.
Summary: The story of these games (at least the first two) are excellent. The game play takes a couple trys to get right but the mechanics work. The graphics were to "my" standard and it was scary. There is nothing like the feeling you get as you hide from something you can't fight and it is what made this game so good!
Summary: Great puzzle style Amnesia style game. Similar to Mist,Amnesia games, if that's your style buy it. 3 games for small price $4.00 dollars or so. Enough said great game and three of them. Takes very little memory and little to no requirements to play moves very well. Takes up virtually no space in PC. Hand/magnifier glass style of investigation game to solve puzzles. I could be critical but what about,so 4-5 stars.
Summary: I'm so glad I came across this series from Frictional Games, as it was a breath of fresh air playing their style of game(s) - very talented and imaginative developer. Anyone that said it was "Stupid" or "Boring" blah, blah, blah, are obviously the typical CoD players that like the same thing over and over again (same recycled game with a different name and package) mindlessly running-and-gunning through their games. But that is fine, of course, to each their own.
A must-have for Survival Horror Veterans, but not for initiates
4 January 2012
Summary: "Survival horror" games are more frequently "Action games with horror elements", rather than "horror games with action elements. Fortunately, the Penumbra deviates from the typical Doom 3 and FEAR horror model. Instead, you play as Phillip: a totally ordinary person with no superpowers and a lot of weaknesses. If you like challenge, chilling atmospheres, stealth, tension, and genuine terror, then this game is for you.
Summary: What a great miniseries! The game is a little older now, and I'm sure it wasn't beating down the door of anyone's graphic card even when it was released. That said, the game ambiance is wonderful and very scary. The character you play is not particularly good at anything- he's just a guy who has a panic attack whenever he looks a monster in the eye. You spend a lot of your time hiding.
Includes all 3 Penumbra games by creators of Amnesia
Duped in FL "Duped", Amazon
31 July 2011
Summary: Installed perfectly on Windows 7 64-bit, using amazon downloader. Was quick and painless, no cdkeys required. ATI mobility Radeon HD 4870 video card, latest drivers/directX, no video card problems like other reviewers. Good deal. Amnesia was the best but if you wanted more from the creators this is worth it for the price. Resolution is a little low, not sure if theres a way to mod the game for high res LCDs. Penumbra very much feels like a beta-ish amnesia.
Summary: I rather liked this game. It is not a first person shooter, although it is played in the first person. The whole collection is the same way. Its more of a dodge the enemy, figure out the puzzle, type of game. It was a nice change from the action packed games that I'm used to playing.
Summary: This is, in my opinion, the greatest video game achievement of all time. This will remain my favorite video game for a long period of time. The story is absolutely amazing and understandable (for me.) The graphics for the entire series, runned by the HPL Engine, looked much like 2012 graphics other than a 2007. The character archetypes are extremely well done that you can actually get an understanding of a character. The sound is crisp and clear.
Summary: Amazing story, best story out of anything ive seen, great series. the last expansion is basically an eerie version of portal with a companion sphere, which is just awesome. took a few months, but this was some of the best 50 hours ive ever spent on anything. its less than 10 bucks and your computer doesnt need a crapload of upgrades, get it. In black plague and requiem there's artefacts that you can find and if u find them all you're given a code.
