Expert Review

  • Summary: Out of the Park Baseball has quietly become one of the most impressive sports franchises in all of gaming. This big league management simulation has been getting better with just about each passing year since the late 1990s, and the recently released 12th version of the game may be the best yet. While there aren't any stop-the-presses moments here that will convert text-game haters, rough spots have been smoothed out and depth has been added.
  • Pros: The best, most complete OOTP game released so far, Great depth and accuracy with player rosters and AI management, Role-playing storylines expanded to cover more big-league drama, Expanded contract and financial options, Beefed-up multiplayer features allow you to more easily join an online league
  • Cons: Serious initial bugs that need to be addressed with a system tweak

  • Summary: : OOTP Baseball 12 is yet another must buy game in the series. Year to year, I think to myself: maybe I should skip OOTP and every year Markus and the OOTP Productions group creates another version that manages to improve and innovate. While there are other baseball simulations, OOTP is Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth all rolled into one.

Out of the Park Baseball 12

  • Excerpt: The first impression I have of OOTP 12 is that it is highly comprehensive. Offering every season of baseball rosters from here all the way back to the 19th century, and absolutely every option you could possibly want. Perhaps the most attractive aspect of OOTP is network play, allowing you to get all of your baseball buddies together and hold entire fantasy baseball leagues of every imaginable type wherever, whenever.
