Summary: This game is something I have been waiting for, I overlooked it because its review was average even though it deserves a lot more than it got. This game has lots of beautiful destruction that lots of other games overlook. If anything this games gets you as close to WW2 as possible in terms of a RTS. The survival mode is nice and I just love the complete carnage on bridge battles. I would defiantly recommend this game, it has good replay value and multiplayer is a beast.
Summary: This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Banlance not good enough, GER units too expensive and its abilities really not good enough, especially compared with USA and USSR units(tanks much cheaper and still powerful). It's the most serious point. So in multi games, ppl almost choose USA or USSR,not GER,because its really much easier to get win, even the same one with the same skill.
Conclusion: Visually the game is right up there (although there are glitches - not being able to see any graphic when a unit is shooting for instance). But the gameplay is a couple of steps back from the Company of Heroes series. Line of sight, cover, timing, all of these things seem fairly redundant, in the missions that I've played so far all I've had to do is move my troops to the location of the enemy troops and then wait to see what happens. It's all just too simplistic.
Conclusion: I had no problems installing this. You only need to activate the keycode on steam and install the game from disc. Takes minutes. very nice graphics and sounds and is, in my opinion a very creditable rts. Holding keypoints can make the game a very tactical affair. No base building required, holding flag points earns you points for buying reinforcements and/or air/artillary strikes. Plays similar to COH/World in Conflict.
Conclusion: Just finished the game and spent some really exciting hours with it so I would love to share with you my views on "Order of War" title. First off I should I say that I never considered myself an RTS fan (shooters is my passion actually). That's probably why I was advised to try namely this game. And yes, the absence of head racking micromanagement, production and recharging was what I greatly appreciated in this game. OOW is all about dynamism.
Conclusion: Bought about a week ago and here's my brief review. First of all, I liked the scale. You have lots of troops on the battlefield simultaneously (in one of my multiplayer battles the stats screen said that I had deployed more than 1,5K infantry, more than 250 tanks, more than 130 guns, more than 30 aircrafts) - that makes you feel Patton Jr., at least. Secondly, the graphics.
