Orcs Must Die! 2

Thunderbolt Games
9 August 2012
  • Excerpt: Tower defense games have become incredibly ubiquitous in recent years. That’s not a bad thing, by any means; it’s natural for people to see something cool and replicate it themselves – that’s how genres pop up in the first place. Even though they haven’t proliferated any more than, say, shooters or racing games have over the years, it’s easy to single the genre out as a fad bandwagon, probably because a huge number of tower defense games are available as Flash games,...

Orcs Must Die 2 Review

G4
2 August 2012
  • Summary: Orcs Must Die! 2 follows the tried and true formula created by developer Robot Entertainment in the first Orcs Must Die iteration: gruesome traps plus hundreds of orcs mixed with a dash of brutality and a pinch of magic equals one fantastic arcade game. Orcs Must Die! 2 expands on the original idea with multiplayer and a completely redesigned spellbook, but at the end of the day, feels more like an expansion of the original game rather than a whole new experience.
  • Pros: Co-op adds an engaging element, Excellent customization when it comes to traps and weapons, Challenging from start to finish
  • Cons: Not enough tutorials, Story is an afterthought, Feels more like an expansion rather than an entirely new experience

Cant we all just get along?

Game Debate
1 August 2012
  • Excerpt: Well? What is it? Innovation in design, a completely fresh perspective, and a new approach? Or perhaps a refining of what worked well the first time around, with fewer annoyances and more of what made the original good? Or, perhaps, just a metric whackton more of the first game: more maps, more enemies, more treasure?
  • Pros: Fun and silly
  • Cons: A little samey

Orcs Must Die 2

Game Boyz
8 May 2012
  • Excerpt: You remember that tongue in cheek tower defence third person shooter thing? No, not sanctum, the other one, Orcs Must Die. The one with the obvious reference to Ash from Evil Dead. Well, it's back, and this time, it has co-op and a small rift's worth of mechanical changes and additions. So, how does that work out? Read on!

Orcs Must Die! (PC) - Review

VGChartz
2 November 2011
  • Excerpt: Do you like nachos? I hope you do, because in Robot Entertainment's Orcs Must Die! you're going to be making a lot of Orc salsa with the help of your minions, magic, traps, and weapons. Orcs Must Die! is a third person action strategy defense game that hearkens back to games like Dungeon Keeper, where the minions you recruit and the traps you build were the strongest line of defense between winning and losing.

Orcs Must Die! Review

AtomicGamer
21 October 2011
  • Excerpt: When Ensemble Studios dissolved, many veteran PC gamers felt that an era had ended. The creators of Age of Empires and Halo Wars had split up to form three separate Dallas-based development teams, and many people blamed Microsoft for the closure of the studio. But apparently, most of the people involved in this split actually agreed to it, and now Robot Entertainment has released the first game out of the ashes of Ensemble.
