Flashpoint Review by TMarsh

T. Marsh "elkwaller", Amazon

  • Summary: I found this game to be refreshingly realistic. It is not just a shoot em up, where your character simply mows down the enemy. You need to use tactics very similar to those used in real combat if you want to survive. I thought the sound in the game was excellent.

Excellent Graphics and Realism, but missing great features of original...

  • Summary: The graphics are very realistic. The weapons are pretty faithful too. There are some glitches, they are annoying when they happen but bearable and when they put a patch out I am sure they'll be resolved.

Not a True Sequel to Operation Flashpoint

Strick1226, Amazon
19 October 2009
  • Summary: Pro's: --Nice opening cinematic providing background of events leading up to game's present day --Sounds of incoming fire is amazing --Con's: --Several timed missions --Unable to change weapon loadout in single player (so far as I can tell) --Relatively short --Very small range of mission types...

A disappointment

Arvestl Lars "student26", Amazon
12 October 2009
  • Summary: I had great expectations on this game. I loved the original Flashpoint, but this just doesn't cut it. I'll keep myself real short. This game is not a 5-star game like its predecesor, because: 1. It's just not as exciting as FP1. You don't feel as much in controll and your AI co-players are stupid.

Fun military sim, but not amazing

Amazon Customer "disposable", Amazon
11 October 2009
  • Summary: PROS: Fluid and natural movement compared to ARMA II. The campaign actually works very well in co-op mode. Very good system of using laser range finders to accurately adjust for realistic bullet drop.

  • Summary: 1st....this game will not work properly on a single processor, yes I know it says that on the box, but you aint got that to look at if you bought it online. 2nd...the AI is rubbish and I hate it when an enemy can kill me from 300 yards, but I cant do the same. 3rd..

Not convinced

Mr. P. S. Rogers, Amazon
14 April 2010
  • Summary: * If you play COD or MOH - probably not for you - quite dull in quite lot of places. * I used an x-box wired controller on this and that was complex enough, the amount of different controls/task buttons on a keyboard must be great if you like that sort of thing - I don't * I play COD 4 & 2 and MOH...

Stepping Stone

Jules, Amazon
14 April 2010
  • Summary: Played on Windows Vista64. Having played the original ground breaking Operation Flashpoint, back in the early 2000's, Dragon Rising is a bit of a disappointment truth be told. It actually makes Armed Assault 2, the game made by the other break away studio from the original Op Flash game, allot more...
