Nuclear Dawn review

PCGamer Online
27 November 2011
  • Conclusion: A surprisingly deep and well-designed FPS/RTS hybrid. A Team Fortress 2 alternative that needs a community to thrive.

Nuclear Dawn

  • Excerpt: Nuclear Dawn should have a big sign on the store page. This sign, should it exist, should read “GET A HEADSET.” I'm deadly serious here, because voice comms and group tactics are extremely important in Nuclear Dawn, and a headset, trust me, makes your job a lot easier. Soldiers can warn the commander of flanking manoeuvres, commanders can let people know what they're building, and without a headset, it's like watching a bunch of headless chickens...

Nuclear Dawn

  • Excerpt: The Source engine has been merrily serving game developers for roughly seven years now. It’s quite impressive, and its powered plenty of hits – granted, most of them have been in-house Valve productions, but a few cult classics have been built on the once-groundbreaking framework of Half-Life 2 . It’s been incredibly popular for modders, too, which is where Nuclear Dawn ‘s story starts.

Nuclear Dawn

  • Excerpt: There’s nothing more frustrating while playing an online First Person Shooter (FPS) than a team that just isn’t communicating with each other. A team with no microphones and a gung-ho attitude is just asking to be wiped out by a team that understands the importance of strategy. What if you could make the tactical objectives part of the game too?

Nuclear Dawn Review

AusGamers
30 September 2011
  • Conclusion: The pace and tone of the game is more akin to Team Fortress 2 than Call of Duty, which isn’t necessarily a problem, but it’ll strike you by just how quiet it is. It’s also quite a nice-looking game, although the Source Engine is starting to show its age. There’s enough colour in all of the environments to keep things interesting, despite the bleak setting. This is by no means a complicated game, but it’s certainly fun.

  • Conclusion: Gra jest połączeniem strzelaniny ze strategią. Maksymalna ilość graczy to trzydzieści dwie osoby.
