Summary: This game was fun as games go but was too short. I finished it in a few hours. The graphics were nice, sound effects very good but the people were a little too cartoonish for my taste. The HO scenes were good and well lit with no junky trash heap look. The story was the usual brave mother saving her family. For quick game on a rainy afternoon, this would be it.
Summary: I have mixed feelings about Nightmare on the Pacific. I have to agree with shadowfax44 about the heroine's grunting and groaning. That really got on my nerves. But I disagree with shadowfax44 about the heroine's reaction when she thought she'd lost her husband. Crying is only one possible reaction. Another is anger, and she certainly sounded angry to me when she answered her kid. In fact she sounded angry throughout most of the game.
Summary: I actually enjoyed this game very much, but was disappointed by the length of it. I finished it in 2.5 hours and I'm not a fast player. So a star was taken off for that. The venue was a bonus as very few games are aboard ships. Graphics were generally crisp and clear; voice acting was adequate, but the sound was very good. The creaks and groans of a breaking ship and the sound of the raging storm had me wiping sea spray off my face!
Summary: Not bad. Good graphics but predictable story - abandon cruise ship rescue type of theme. Easy to play. Lots of other stuff like journal entries & maps which I found unnecessary because gameplay was easy. It even had a strategy guide! Voice acting was ok. However I disliked the zoom in zoom out animation when changing scenes - pretty annoying.
Summary: Overall Impression: a decent enough IHOG/Adventure with pretty clear graphics, a strong start, and a weak finish Media Description: The graphics are clear and crisp for the most part. The voiceovers were well done. I thought the sounds the mom made as she climbed over stuff gave a bit of added realism to the game. The music felt a bit intense at times; but given the premise of the game, it wasn't out of line. Storyline: Like most games, the storyline had its plotholes.
Summary: Quite a nice HOG with a bit of adventure thrown in. Not as challenging as other HOG adventures, but quite nice and had a storyline. It felt a little like the developers gave up near the end as you seemed to have to do quite a lot to resuce the first 2 characters and the third was just there. Enjoyable enough though.
Summary: I agree with GoldenFalcon and Leo. Finally! A winner of a game! ! A great one from GameHouse/Gogii Games. About time GameHouse had one. I loved this game!! It was not a short one for me. It took me probably more than 6 hours to play. I didn't use the Strategy Guide unless I was really stuck. I did get stuck a few times. I like figuring things out on my own. Like Leo, I felt like I was really on a ship looking for someone. I did miss one step and had to backtrack.
Summary: I give this a B+. The short answer is no, it's not worth paying a CE price for it. The bonus game, a "prequel" is very brief, and the alternate ending is even briefer. Wait for the $6.99 version. I give it credit for setting a thrilling atmosphere of sound effects, excitingly-paced music, vivid scenery, and harrowing experiences that will have you holding your breath along with the heroine. It's an adventure/HOG that's top-heavy in HO scenes.
