Need for Speed Undercover (PC)
1 December 2008
Excerpt: Who on earth is this terrible game supposed to be for? The target audience certainly isn't gamers with next-generation systems whose frame of reference will be titles like Burnout Paradise , MotorStorm and the superlative Midnight Club: Los Angeles . They'll laugh at the lifeless streets, bad driving, dated multiplatform graphics and pathetic attempt at a storyline in Need for Speed Undercover . Maybe it's for fans of car culture who've never seen a videogame.
Conclusion: All in all, NFS Undercover is a pretty average game, delivering players a relatively enjoyable experience. If you are a NFS fan, and you enjoyed Most Wanted, then this title might interest you and keep you entertained for a pretty short amount of time. But only if you can get past its technical problems. If you like racing games but don't want an experience filled with glitches and annoying parts, then this game isn't for you.
Excerpt: For the most part, the reaction to the last few Need for Speed games was the same: "Why aren't they more like Need for Speed Most Wanted?" "Where are the cheesy cutscenes and the over-the-top cop chases?" It seems as if EA heard those cries, because for better or for worse, Need for Speed Undercover feels like Most Wanted.
Pros: Plenty of cop chases, Instantly join races with press of a button, Isn't long before you're driving a cool car, Plenty of cop chases, Instantly join races with press of a button, Isn't long before you're driving a cool car
Cons: Lots of quirks and nagging gameplay issues, Emulates Most Wanted, but doesn't necessarily improve upon it, Story isn't much to get excited about, Frame rate renders game nearly unplayable at times, Lots of quirks and nagging gameplay issues, Emulates Most Wanted, but doesn't necessarily improve upon it, Story isn't much to get excited about, Frame rate isn't great
Conclusion: Finally, perhaps the most legitimate reason to connect Need for Speed: Undercover to Transporter is Driver Job. Whether or not we'll be delivering sensitive packages clients, I couldn't tell you, but an example involves reaching a casino. We don't exactly know why, but the fact of the matter is that you're being heavily pursued by the law, and they'll stop at nothing to stop you .
Conclusion: Overall, Batman: Arkham Asylum is a triumph for a developer who is only on their second full retail game and it is comfortably the best Batman game ever made. It isn't without its flaws but there is enough content and enough action to satisfy every gamer. Whether you are a Batman fan or not, this is just a hell of a game.
