  • Summary: The controls were difficult to master, and the fighting sequences quickly became very tedious. I think the concept of the game was good but the fighting interface was cumbersome.

Pay for a mod

Jason Necros "Now stimulating N-methyl-D-aspa..., Amazon
24 June 2011
  • Summary: This is a step backwards for Mount and Blade Basicly this is a mod that you pay for, but it is not as good as free mods for Warband..in fact the free player made mod With Fire and Sword is a bit better Not worth 20$ If I could do it again, I would only pay 5$ for this

Mount and Blade so far

Chris, Amazon
14 May 2011
  • Summary: Well, I have not finished the whole game, but it is relatively challenging especially on horseback. Only one problem so far. I went into a town recently and dismounted. Then I took on a few challenges and quests only to find my horse disappeared. So I had to leave town walking on a quest for them. That I don't like. Now I don't who took my horse or what, but it should'nt be that way unless I get to steal too.

  • Summary: I purchased this version of the Mount and Blade series as I was interested from playing the Warband version. Overall I am more pleased with playing Warband than this version.

90% of it is a step backward.

J. Potter "JPotter", Amazon
29 October 2009
  • Summary: Fire & Sword promised the addition of gunpowder and banking and a realistic map to the Mount & Blade franchise. What was not mentioned was that these additions would be made to the original Mount & Blade, not as a continuation of the evolution from Mount & Blade to Mount & Blade: Warband. The addition of guns and bombs is fun. Blowing stuff up is always fun. The fights are pretty, but the AI hasn't been updated to reflect these new possibilities.

Very Lazy Stand-Alone Mod to Original M&B

Phoinix, Amazon
29 October 2009
  • Summary: First off, I really enjoyed the first two M&B games so when I saw there was a new release featuring gunpowder units, I was excited. My expectations were that this would be an advance on previous M&B titles and would certainly be better than the player-made gunpowder mods for Warband. It's not. It turns out that this game was released in Europe prior to Warband, using the original M&B as a base to work from.

Mount and Blade Fire and Sword 90,000 coin gernades!!

Raphael Green, Amazon
29 October 2009
  • Summary: Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword [Game Download ] Ok I was so excited for this game I even pre-ordered and had dreams about it. When I played it I realized almost all the factions armor almost looks the same like theres only 10 pieces of armor. I noticed all the guns have stupid names like, rusty musket, good musket, better musket. When I played online I was hoping to try commander mode, it turned out to be so simple it was pathetic.

Worst mod I've downloaded

Dave, Amazon
29 October 2009
  • Summary: This is a cheap product, but there are already so many mods available that completely blow F&S out of the water, that are free, that it makes purchasing this game a waste of time and money. The guns really aren't new (a few mods around, go to the developers website and check out the forum). It's way too easy to get money. Just find a couple decent trade routes and ctrl+space your way to riches. The combat feels like pre-warband.
