Had tons of fun with the japanese and amtrak trains.

Summary: Great game by Microsoft, even though it's 12 years old. I'd like to see the company make a new one, because the computers of yesterday couldn't handle the graphics, unless you purchased all high end gaming equipment. Now we have 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB computers that will play these types of games without any problem. I know, I have a 32GB upgradeable computer.
Summary: This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the best Train simulator, a very good game. This is full of cool trains and coaches. Scenarios are really fantastic and full of breathtaking views.
Summary: This dates back to 2001. The graphics were topline then, but are now rather blocky & long in the tooth. MS were developing a Mk 2 version, but scrapped it in Jan 2009 as it neared release date. Shame. Later rivals like Trainz are far prettier, but I still think MSTS stands up well on sheer depth of play. Start with simple controls (forward/reverse, fast/slow) then build up to using every footplate control.
