Summary: I spent 2 hours installing this on mine and my wife's computer to play some co-op action (I bought two copies from a Download distributor). So after I got it installed I discovered I couldn't connect to the EA servers... After some research I found out that EA took the servers down for this game in March, rendering it impossible as of now to play a game in co-op. There is no LAN option either.
Summary: Lots of good games out there; but this is one one of them. Like they say in New York; "fagetaboudit!
Cons: Lousy graphics, storyline and gameplay. Poor weapon targeting simulation. You have to press mouse 1 to bring up the targeting reticle, and it often lets off a shot before you aim. Hard to tell how much ammo you have; the info disappears and reappears mysteriously. Vehicles are twitchy and nearly impossible to drive. The AI is numb, and the NPC adversaries are unable to hit anything except at point blank range. You can stand 50 feet in front of a .50 cal, and it'll mis...
Summary: This game is pure garbage. Glad I only paid a dollar and change plus a couple dollars shipping. I still want my money back, including shipping, Amazon. The game might not be defective, but the designers sure were! Got this game based on one reviewer who gave a VERY extensive review. Should have listened to the other reviewers. He claimed the graphics were phenomenal. Not the case. I have a GTX 280 and the graphics on this game are sub-par to say the least.
Summary: yuck! i bought this game for a couple hundred pennies and i totally wasted them! the original mercs ROCKED and i therefore gambled when i saw the cheap price tag. the old adage of 'you get what you pay for' has never been more true. save your pennies and get a delicious ice cream cone or something.
Pros: some of the holdover gameplay concepts from the original price??? maybe?
Cons: controls are terrible... settings customization is terrible... graphics are terrible... ai is terrible... regular glitches are constant and terrible... etc.
Summary: Dont buy this game. You'll say just like I did, "Wow, just five dollars. I guess I'll give it a shot", only to be dissapointed after the long install. I installed it...played it for about 2 hours (2 hours because I was waiting for it to get better), and uninstalled it shortly thereafter.
Pros: None. Not even the price. Well, i guess EA had good ideas for the game, but ideas dont really count, do they?
Cons: The game was 5 dollars, and quite frankly, not worth it. Where do I begin...AI, horrible. Through the first whole mission, I could stand right in front of the enemy and they wouldnt do anything except say, "the enemy is near! the enemy is near!" it got really annoying and pointless. The driving in the game is unresponsive. The graphics look like garbage. Graphic settings would keep reverting back to default even after I "save" them. Really EA? this game sucks and you ...
Summary: Do NOT buy this game. Take a moment to do a random search of this game (go ahead, I'll wait) and you'll find the consensus is the same throughout the world wide web. Stalling due to poor FPS, system freezing, choppy sound, poor graphics, inability to increase graphic settings... you name it. This game should never have been released for the PC in its current condition. I've played this for the PS3 and there is a world of difference. I've warned you.
Pros: Eye catching description of the game on the box.
Cons: - Hardware requirements are far too specific and uncommon. (3.0ghz duel core processor MINIMUM.) - The average gaming PC to even many advanced PC's will NOT be able to run this game. - Video clipping and save game functions are extraordinarily buggy. Patch did little to alleviate these and many other issues.
Summary: EA is shutting down online support because supposedly too few players play it, WHEN MANY PLAYERS CAN'T EVEN LOG ON TO PLAY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE! I wish I had not just bought this from NEWEGG a few days ago. The order has already shipped, and I will be stuck with DEAD GAME that EA refuses to debug or support anymore. I only found this out AFTER I bought it while I was researching the game.
Pros: NONE! EA must DESPISE its paying customers!
Cons: Online servers for this game are to be SHUT DOWN on March 16, 2010! Along with MANY other EA PC and console games they recently stopped supporting! This game was ONLY released on September 3, 2008 according to one large retailer! EA gobbled up and ate the company that made it, PANDEMIC, and now they killed this game for desert, too! Rather than fix the many bugs in this game, like being able to LOG ONLINE TO PLAY IT (see EA's many forum posts about this), EA instead d...
Summary: dont buy this game unless you just got a 1500 dollor gaming computer if not you wont be able to play because it needs way to many things to run like my computer wont run because it doesnt have a shader 3 i mean come on a shader 3 what is that any way so dont buy it
