   The new expansion also allows gamers a chance to play hotseat multiplayer with automatic battle resolution. Adding to the ways you can play Medieval 2 is never really a bad idea, but there's really no enjoyment to be found here. The strategic phases are far too long to maintain your interest during your off turns, and the automatic resolution pretty much eliminates the game's main attraction, tactical battles. Read more

   MTW2 is really RomeTW with Medieval dressing. As such it‘s a great game. But the series is starting to look unoriginal, albeit slick. Crucially the AI hasn‘t really moved on. Like much of the game, this makes it good, but nothing we haven‘t seen before. Graphics, strategic game, diversity of units. All a bit too familiar. The truth is that Creative Assembly should not have remade the first Medieval game. They should have advanced the formula onto Rennaissance... Read more
