Hard to Control
9 May 2013
Summary: I got this after having played MechWarrior *2*.for years. With MW4, I couldn't get used to the controls for some reason. Had trouble getting a sense of head/torso/leg alignment. Gave up with little play. May have to go back to it when I have more time. Oh well.
Summary: This is hands down the best Mech game ever and considering how long ago this came out is sad. Microsoft has really dropped the ball on this franchise. Huge fan base because of the Mechwarrior series for the PC and then it was shifted over to the Xbox and the games were not as good. Very surprised that there hasn't been an MMO developed based on this series. It is also a shame that Microsoft does not offer many of their older games by digital download.
Summary: Got this as a replacement for an older disk that, well let's say My "ex" accidently on purpose stepped on it. Well I ordered it here and was looking forward to playing it again. opened it up took out the Vengence disk, booted it up and... bam-- Got my game back, Then I took out Black Knight and the disk had a crack going all the way through. Bummer !! I figured that at least I have 'Vengence', and I knew I still had 'Mercenaries' so at least I got half of it back.
Summary: Back in the day this game was one of the premier Microsoft titles. Excellent campaign, awesome online multi-player and very faithful to the source material. Well thanks to MekTek, the Mercenaries version is back and Win 7/Vista/ compatible. You don't have to wonder where all of the good games have gone. Dust off your joystick and prepare for some massive metal mayhem.

Summary: Don't Buy! Soon MechWarrior 4 and it's expansions will be FREE to download from BattleTech.com! Quote from BattleTech.com: "In honor of BattleTech's 25th anniversary, Smith and Tinker has authorized MekTek.net and MekTek Studios to distribute MechWarrior 4 (along with its expansion packs) completely free. For years, MekTek.net has been the central point for online distribution of MechWarrior 4 expansion packs. Now they can provide the core game free to the fans as well.
Summary: This game was described elsewhere better than I can: "Giant robot suits beat each other to a pulp." Skill, thinking, and planning are needed to do well rather than a fast trigger finger. Lots of shooting is involved, of course, but overshooting is detrimental. You have to pay attention to mission objectives. I would say a joystick is mandatory, as the keyboard controls are a bit clumsy. I bought this game for my 8 YO son because he had the sample and REALLY wanted it.

Summary: This is a great game (although Mechwarrior 2 was the best of the series). I rebought this classic because I was so nostalgic, but was unable to get it to work on Windows XP SP3. It was announced 7 days before I bought it that mechwarrior 4 would be released for free online for the 25th anniversay of battletech. That's what I get for not keeping up on the news. If you can get it to work, I highly recommend the game.
Summary: Mech games are fun, And gret way to spend on a rainy day. Really enjoy useing the mech lab to build a mech to my spec's. Nothing beats hoppin into a mech and blasting your opponent to peices. Options on how you want to play the game are outstanding from programing the game controler, to options on how want your game veiw. Being able to choice unlimited ammo, and being invunerable, makes it more enjoyable while you are learnig the game.
