Great game, but takes FOREVER

J. Lavezzi, Amazon
19 November 2009
  • Summary: if you have a couple months of your life to kill buy this game, the most in-dept civilization game I've ever played. I recommend the second one less dept but much quicker game play.

Imagine The Game Without The Prequels

Kristopher S. Snyder, Amazon
18 March 2009
  • Summary: The key to eventually enjoying this game is to forget all of the things you loved about MOO2. They took a world and game concept and created a whole new game around it, keeping the same races and themes in the game while diverting the game towards what can best be called a macro-management...

One of the Best 4X Games out

Independence 1776, Amazon
31 January 2008
  • Summary: I have played this game non-stop for 3 years now and still cannot get enough of it. While the Orignal version and the patches fix a few problems what really has made this game so great is the community made fixes and mods found at The Master of Orion 3 Guardian web site( [...] ).

If you don't have an patience, don't buy this game.

Jonathan M. D'silva, Amazon
1 July 2003
  • Summary: ... I played MOO1 and MOO2 religiously in my time and MOO3 seems to me to be a worthy follow up. Get the patch and look over the user forums at the Atari site. There are a ton of hints and how-to's published by hardcore fans on the official site that do wonders for understanding what's going on.

Amazon Customer, Amazon
15 May 2004

Missiles seem to be a little over powered and sometimes point defence weapons don't fire but the battles are extremely intense and can be very hard fought...

For some a Dream come true but not for everyone

Onyx Heart, Amazon
15 May 2004
  • Summary: what can I say about Moo3. It is a Civilization series on stereoids. Imagine CIV3 or MOO2 and multiply everything tenfold. Here you are. The complexity of thegame will not make it everyone's game.

Good Game... Better Patched

Amazon Customer, Amazon
15 May 2004
  • Summary: This game, while great in promise even in orginal release, had many flaws. The majority of those were fixed in the recent patch, and several more are supposed to be fixed int he next patch. Because of this, Moo3 has become a much better game than once-it-was.
