Epic Sci Fi shooter/RPG and fascinating intergalactic encyclopedia in one.

  • Summary: Mass Effect 2 isn't the best RPG I've played but it's the best shooter I've played.Mass Effect 2 isn't just a game but it's an entertaining fictional intergalactic encyclopedia because it's codex provides detailed information about history/cultural aspects of all the different alien races and about wars that have happened between certain races and how certain races first encountered other races. It will also teach you about extinct races and about races that were around...

Great game, met expectations and beyond.

  • Summary: I played and purchased this on the 360 before getting it again for the PC. I got it at a discounted price, even better. I sank tens of hours into it, and many have put hundreds of hours into it. This is *the* best Mass Effect out of the three, in my opinion. Exploration, gameplay, and story were notches above Mass Effect 3 and 1. If you loved Mass Effect 1, get it. If you liked Mass Effect 3, get it.

An excellent introduction to modern video game story telling.

WideAndNerdy, Amazon
26 December 2013
  • Summary: So the graphics probably look a little last gen at this point but the game still looks beautiful and was designed with aesthetics that complement its graphical limitations (Mass Effect 3 is not as consistent in this regard). This was one of the early games I played upon returning to gaming and it really opened my eyes as to what games were capable of in the story telling department.

Best of the trilogy!

Cass, Amazon
3 September 2013
  • Summary: I think ME2 is the best of the trilogy by a long shot! It is similar to Mass Effect but with easier controls and just funner in general. You spend most of this game recruiting people, trying to create a powerful team to stop the Collecters. Each character you recruit also has a personal mission, which is completely optional, but helps you gain their loyalty. I feel this game has the most 'game changing' choices because of the final battle.

A great sci-fi epic.

Bony4D, Game Informer
24 June 2013
  • Summary: Opinion on Mass Effect 2 by Bony 4D What I like about Mass Effect 2 The larger variety of enemies In Mass Effect 1 I didn’t like the fact that I was mostly killing Geth. Sure I fought the husk and other aliens and zombies, but most of the time it was the Geth that came between me and my objective.  Bioware fixes this problem by putting different mechs and aliens throughout Mass Effect 2. They all had different fighting patterns and reacted differently when I shot them.

A stunning, emotional sequel to the Mass Effect franchise.

Jonas Nielsen, Amazon
21 June 2013
  • Summary: Mass Effect 1(ME1) is great. Mass Effect 2(ME2) picks up the story and takes you on a thrilling adventure following our same hero as last time, Commander Shepard. If you have played ME1 you will be able to import a finished ME 1 save game straight into ME2, your well-known Shepard is freshly molded and is a familiar face. The depth of this interesting plot is amazing and expands on the thoughts and visions of the BioWare team behind the franchise.
