Summary: Mark of the Ninja is only $15 at the time of writing this review and you will get a lot of hours out of it. After beating the base game, you get to play again in New Game Plus mode, which, much like Arkham City, has you replaying the game in a more difficult fashion. The difficulty increases by giving you a limited cone of vision instead of being able to see everything and hiding things like sound indicators.
Conclusion: Overall, you might say this is one of the most enjoyable platformers we've experienced in recent times. Mark of the Ninja is a really nice surprise and definitely one of the best indie games we've tried this year. There's not much we can criticize about it, other than the fact that it leaves no options for those who wish to resort to pure action during challenges. But if you're a ninja, what would you do? Jump into the fray, guns blazing? No that's not the ninja way.
Excerpt: Mark of the Ninja is a 2D side scrolling stealth title developed by Klie Entertainment as a Microsoft exclusive for PC and the Xbox 360. You take on the role of an unnamed ninja who has awoken with strange markings all over his body in the midst of an attack on his base by a group of armed soldiers.
Conclusion: Mark of the Ninja is addictive and a whole lot of fun. It controls so well and intuitively that I found I barely had to think about what my fingers were doing once I had gotten into it. I was just happy to watch the action on screen unfold. The story was not completely compelling the whole way through, though I found the ending to be very powerful. The price is that of a smaller downloadable game, but I would have had no trouble paying full retail price for it.
