Summary: Mafia is a game based during the 1930's era where gangsters & mobsters rule the city. It is a 3rd person perspective game where you play Tommy Angelo. A lowly cabbie who rises through the ranks of the gangster family: Salieri. This game may be compared by others with the likes of GTA 3. But for my opinion, it is quite similar but with the experience of the 1930's built into it. It is a good game for those who would like to immerse themselves into that era.
Summary: mafia is hard to review because i have such mixed and strong feelings about it. in the end i do recommend it and i do understand some of the intense passion it has elicited among some of its fans, but there were some serious limitations and problems for me with the game as well.
Summary: The reason I bought this game was because I really enjoyed Mafia 2. While this game does have the same style of telling the story and keeping you involved with the story, game-play wise, its not that great. The driving is OK even though the driving sections are repetitive and slightly too strict. The shooting sections were awful! It shows how amazingly well shooters have evolved in the last decades.
Summary: This is a great game, which is loads of fun. It is old, but the graphics are good and you don't get bored easily by its gripping story line! I always love playing on old games like this, but this is my favorite one by a long shot. I would strongly recommend this game to anyone wishing to have a lot of fun. Great for playing with friends, and at this price, you can't go wrong. GET IT; IT'S GREAT!
Good story and action sequences marred by bugs and nonsensical design

Summary: Mafia is a very engrossing game. The voice acting is excellent, the story compelling and the narrative perfectly paced. The missions are varied and challenging and combat is always satisfying, be it by sneaking up behind people with a baseball bat or going all out with a vintage 1930s tommy gun. Unfortunately, in between the story and the action sequences lies a rather sloppily designed game that had this reviewer screaming at the screen in frustration.

Summary: The 1930's. The era of prohibition, bootlegged liquor, and the mob. Mafia from Illusion Softworks brings us back to that by gone era with some good graphics and decent albeit uneven gameplay. Mafia, tells the story of Tommy Angelo. A mobster who really just wants to do "the right thing". As a story, Mafia works. The cutscenes are surprisingly photorealistic and are well acted and presented.
Summary: This game is beatiful in its graphics. The people look reall, the cars are detailed to the bone, and the city is well....just beatiful. The stroy line is great. From the beginning the player believes this game is gonna rock. However, the game gets boring after a while. Too much driving... no really good shooting sequences, and a really bad music. However, the end is great. This game should be played once and never played again.
Schade.
