Summary: I actually bought this game a few years ago and never got around to playing it. I finally opened it up and installed it about a month ago and gave it a ride. Unfortunately, that is all this game really seemed to be for me: a ride. I did not get very far into this game before becoming bored with the constant car driving missions.
Summary: Mafia is a game based during the 1930's era where gangsters & mobsters rule the city. It is a 3rd person perspective game where you play Tommy Angelo. A lowly cabbie who rises through the ranks of the gangster family: Salieri. This game may be compared by others with the likes of GTA 3. But for my opinion, it is quite similar but with the experience of the 1930's built into it. It is a good game for those who would like to immerse themselves into that era.
Summary: mafia is hard to review because i have such mixed and strong feelings about it. in the end i do recommend it and i do understand some of the intense passion it has elicited among some of its fans, but there were some serious limitations and problems for me with the game as well.
Summary: Ok, I love the graphics, sound and cinema feel this game has. You feel if you've been dropped into another Godfather movie as your character is sucked up into a life of crime. As you move from incident to incident with your new "Family", you can't help but start to feel closer to each character. However..... ...you spend about 90% of this game in a car.
Summary: This game is for everyone. It has awesome graphics, and a great driving system. No cheesy hit a curb and blow up, nor ram 80 miles an hour into a wall and drive away as if it never happened. The only thing that bites is no in-game save feature and no cheatcodes for it. It has a wonderful style of play, and is great. I would reccomend this to many games. Enjoy :-) The only thing is, Free Ride. I would like to see a better Free Ride mode if there is a Mafia2.
Summary: Yes, as you know, Mafia combines the story-driven shooting of Max Payne with the (supposedly) free-form city sim of GTA3. Unfortunately, Mafia isn't worthy of the noble pedigree, and unless a patch fixes some serious performance issues (even on high-end pcs), I'd recommend holding off on this one. In addition to being slow and boring, the driving sections run choppily, even on a Geforce Ti4600.
Summary: I liked this game when I first sat down to play it. I have played Max Payne as well as Grand theft auto III. I couldn't wait for this game to come out, I watched and waited. Now that I have played it, I wished I saved my money. I loved the first few levels, and I thought the driving around the town was actually enjoyable. The one aspect of driving I didn't like was being made to drive in a car race. If I want to drive in a car race, I will get a NASCAR game.
Summary: Okay you know the story to the game. You go from Jamook to Capo overnight. (Now that's making it in the family!) Anyway the game features a lot of driving and shooting, and never truly excels at either one. First off on starting the game though many people with surround sound will notice that Mafia whacks your rear speakers and changes your system settings to two-speaker setup. How did that get through playtesting?
....An Offer You Can't Refuse? Well maybe, maybe not.

Summary: The 1930's. The era of prohibition, bootlegged liquor, and the mob. Mafia from Illusion Softworks brings us back to that by gone era with some good graphics and decent albeit uneven gameplay. Mafia, tells the story of Tommy Angelo. A mobster who really just wants to do "the right thing". As a story, Mafia works. The cutscenes are surprisingly photorealistic and are well acted and presented.
Summary: As a diehard GTA3/Vice City fan, this game is not anywhere close to being as good as GTA3. Actually, it's not even as good as the severely-flawed-but-good The Getaway. Since I don't have time and I want to educate people who are interested in it but want to know the REAL DEAL, here's the breakdown: PROS: * Animation * Voice acting * Storyline * Some of the shootouts are REALLY good CONS: * The cars are just awful (FYI-I am not a car fanatic) -- they don't handle well and...
