i dont know why it isnt posting right...

  • Excerpt: this game will frustrate you. capcom made some horrible choices in making this game. you cant look straight up, and when you take a hit you have to go through an animation and usually once thats over, the enemy hits you again immediatly and you die without being able to do anything.

Woot...what about the multiplayer?

Charlie Wild, 1UP
22 September 2007
  • Excerpt: This is a Capcom game, so, if there's one thing the player is guaranteed, it's a host of exciting enemies and wacky bosses. Unfortunately, this game really lacks the gameplay to accompany it.

Let down

Ryan Francis, 1UP
22 September 2007
  • Excerpt: The whole idea which Lost Planet was based on and the Media coverage via Trailers had me thinking this game was going to "knock me socks off" but after actually playing the game I felt "hood-winked" because the sloppy controls did not do the game any justice because it just did not feel like a...

It's not good, it's not bad...it's not for everyone.

Fathy, Amazon
4 May 2014
  • Summary: First of all, the story is not good and it's also not bad. It's just simple and blend story. The location put you on random ice planet that has alien life form, but not intelligent aliens, just animal aliens. So your enemy is not an alien, but it's a human just like you.

  • Excerpt: I acquired Lost Planet: Extreme Condition fairly recently, and have never regretted the purchase. The game has an excellent plotline, is full of excellently balanced and well conceived mechanics.
  • Pros: Excellent campaign, decent multiplayer, good mech system
  • Cons: Getting older all the time, losing activity; PC controls a bit iffy

Lost Planet - the most realistic winter you can see in-game

Arniuxaz, Ciao
22 September 2009
  • Excerpt: I'll start from the bad thing: the story. It's just weak. The main protagonist's father has died in another planet so he goes there to get revenge. What's worse? The fact that he has amnesia (reminds me of Memento). The other bad thing is the X360 gamepad.
  • Pros: The graphics, sounds, playability, it's long, cheap enough for awesomeness .
  • Cons: The controls, the story .

massive flaws - but playable

Nick Brett, Amazon
22 April 2008
  • Summary: This was a really hard one to review - please bear in mind in mind I only play on single player and I only invested £10 on this! Yes, Steam is a pain and it took bloody hours to download - also the fact that all the on screen instructions relate to the Xbox - both of which astonish me got through...

Enjoyable but not outstanding

J. Aburrow-Jones, Amazon
3 July 2007
  • Summary: Lost Planet follows the standard fair of following prescribed routes and storyline which limits its enjoyability. The map is limited and certainly not up to the likes of STALKER or Far Cry.
