Summary: Looks like I'm going to be the oddball here. While I'll admit this wasn't a stunningly fantastic game, I didn't think it was horrible either. I liked the fact that it was based on a historical event. A change of pace every now and then from all the ghosts and missing relatives can be nice. I also liked the fact that you could interact with the characters and choose what you wanted to ask them. Was this a must-have game? Unless you're a hardcore history nut, probably not.
Summary: Having played the Salem episode, I was expecting this to be a little more of a game than what was delivered. Once again, we are mislead to thinking that this was really a game, when it amounted to be a history-ed interactive novel with a few puzzles to solve. My expectation was to see HO scenes and other puzzles rather than all the dialog.
Summary: Oh dear, what a waste of time ! And no even that as the game was quite short. The Ho scenes were so easy that a seasoned player will finish them in less than a minute and I had to skip so many games out of sheer frustration. The hints were no help at all. The storyline could have been interesting if it had been consistent (I had the same reaction as one of the reviewers when I was asked to find flowers! Excuse me, am I not supposed to solve an important murder?
Summary: This game rocks! The story is so interesting.... I loved going through the different sections and learning more while solving the mystery! I found some of the objects/tasks pretty challenging, which was fun and made me want to keep at it til I succeeded! Great graphics, too!
Summary: Well….yeah, this is pretty awful. Everything everybody has already said. I like to finish demos: after all, I’ve invested the download time. Sometimes I’m happier than others when it is over. When the demo of this ended, I cried “Oh thank God!” and had to lay my head down on my arms for a minute before I could even manage to hit the trashcan.
Summary: I'm sad, because I really feel like this COULD have been a great game if a little more effort had been put into it. It's interesting learning the historical facts/story, the graphics/music aren't bad, and there are some decent puzzles. I think what really started getting to me was all the little flaws that just started adding up. For one thing, there is no visual indication when you've clicked incorrectly too many times in a hidden object scene.
Summary: If you paid absolutely NO attention in school, don't remember that far back or hate reading histories, then you WILL get the skinny (sort of) on Caesar, Brutus, Marc Antony, Cicero, et al. However, if you don't want to be bored to tears while doing so, go to the library and get any number of books written on the subject to much greater effect and have a lot more pleasure reading than playing this game.
Summary: Ideally, I would like to just write "this game sucks." Then you'd give me a No rating for the "was this review helpful" option but then you'd go play the demo and realize I was right. Then you'd owe me a Kudo. This game sucks. It's insanely short, clicks don't take in the hidden object scenes and for some puzzles, absolutely no explanation is given. For one puzzle, the explanation is "Ch_4_maze_puzzle" or something like that. The developers FORGOT to add the explanation.
Summary: I really wanted to like this game since I am a history buff, but I was very disappointed with this game and with Nat ional Geographic. I expect more from NG, this game has major anachronisms, they basically take any object that is ancient regardless of time period, and throw it in the HO scenes. And the things that the game has you do, what the heck does all that have to do with the assassination of Caesar?
