Before you buy this...

butters, Amazon
17 February 2007
  • Summary: Okay, I let my son buy this with money that he saved, DESPITE the poor reviews on Amazon. This game has a serious problem - it only works with a SELECT FEW graphics cards. (It requires something called pixel shader v1.1 - and don't think the fact that your card supports pixel shader v2.0 or 4.0...

Looks great if you can actually load the game

Charles R. Stephenson "cstephenson9", Amazon
7 December 2006
  • Summary: I am gaming junkie. I bought and installed about 25 PC games this year. I bought this game and encountered an installation error, which after some research appears to be a common problem. Never mind that my PC met all the performance specs.

Disappointed child, no pixel shader

Mary K. Sak..., Amazon
24 February 2006
  • Summary: My son had played this at a friend's house and absolutely LOVED it. We bought it online, but the specifications online didn't tell us we needed "pixel shader support", to run the program.

Another defective game

L.S. Bert, Amazon
26 December 2005
  • Summary: Another defective game and another disappointed child. We tried for a long time to install it and when we saw Disk 1, we thought a second disk had been lost in the Christmas wrappings. Glad to find out we weren't the only ones and that a replacement disk will be available.

A black eye for Amazon and on-line retail

Zapatero "Zapatero", Amazon
25 December 2005
  • Summary: Amazon should have known it was selling a defective product and pulled it a long time ago. There really is no excuse as Amazon is all about up-to-the-second information processing. The installation is a joke in and of itself...

Another Defective Disk Story.

Spuds "Spuds", Amazon
25 December 2005
  • Summary: I like several others had the problem where after installing it, the program said "wrong disk inserted". My son had played the demo first on this computer so it appears that our hardware meets the requirements. In all my years of buying games, I have never seen such a screw up like this.

Scott F. Northwood "snorthwood", Amazon
25 December 2005
  • Summary: There is a problem with the software instalation and I would definitely not recommend buying this software. Tried calling Eidos support line but only was only able to get the company directory. I am very angry about the time and effort spent trying to install this software on Xmas.

Why?

alwyncooper "alwyncooper", Amazon
27 December 2006
  • Summary: My nine year old son received this for his birthday. It doesn't work. Yes it's Pixel Shader again. Luckily, I have a son who has a mature viewpoint on this, and who is content to play other Star Wars licensed games instead.
