Summary: I love the game and so did my kids, who are 5 and 6. they can actually play with some adult assistance. However, DO NOT GET THIS GAME IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A nVIDIA Chip!!! Otherwise it will not play or run. How that happened, I will never know, if you do not have the chip you can download a fix that will quit and kill the game right in the middle. Hopefully the Complete Saga fixes this, because Starwars 2 Lego did not have this problem.
Summary: First of all if you bought the game and then realized that you did not have pixel shader support, try this before you toss the game: 1) run 3d-analyze 2) Go to select and find the star wars EXE file. (probably in program files) 3) check off "Emulate HW TnL Caps" 4) check off force pixel shading 1.1 5) click run This worked for me and some others. If I were to rate the game solely for what it is supposed to do, namely entertain young boys, I would give it 5 stars.
Summary: Just found out about a recall notice for this game in January 2007. It says that some customers may have trouble with the game loading correctly. the return info is - Lego Returns Phone: 704-504-1877 Lego Returns - OEM.
Summary: Okay, I let my son buy this with money that he saved, DESPITE the poor reviews on Amazon. This game has a serious problem - it only works with a SELECT FEW graphics cards. (It requires something called pixel shader v1.1 - and don't think the fact that your card supports pixel shader v2.0 or 4.0 helps. It doesn't.) Also, don't assume that the fact that you have a brand new pc with great graphics matters either.
Summary: I recieved this game for Christmas and was very disappointed when I found out it wouldn't work on my Windows XP Dell. I have the wrong video card. A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL HAVE THE WRONG CARD, FIND OUT IF YOU CAN PLAY THIS GAME ON YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE YOU BUY!!! I wish I knew this before: go to the Eidos Interactive website, click on "games" choose Lego Star Wars from the list.
Summary: I am gaming junkie. I bought and installed about 25 PC games this year. I bought this game and encountered an installation error, which after some research appears to be a common problem. Never mind that my PC met all the performance specs. Eventually I was able to determine that if you encountered this particular error message, you could call a (toll) number and get a replacement disk, for free. Apparently I wasn't the first to encounter this problem.
Summary: This is the kind of game I could just pick up and play for a few minutes or I could spend hours in front of the computer. On the surface it is a very easy game to play and finish, on the other hand there are many optional puzzles and quests that will keep an adult busy (and sometimes frustrated) for weeks after finishing the story of the game. Overall a great game for people of any age...
Summary: Lego Star Wars received a skeptical look by me when it first came out. Of course, as a kid in America I played with Legos all the time. In 1985 I started playing video games as a kid and soon replaced those little Legos. Now in 2006, I find myself playing with both again. What a blast. Lego Star Wars as a video game is actually quite developed. Besides the familiarity with the popular Star Wars story, the game concepts are awesome.
Summary: First of all I would like to say that all the people who write reviews out there and give it a 1 star rating because it won't run on their computer, are morons. They shouldn't give a game a bad rating because their computer doesn't have the system requirements. That's the computer's problem not the game's. And because of the people who write such stupid "reviews" other people are going to look at the average rating and say, "Oh, only 3 stars, not worth the money.
