Summary: I've never tried LR1, so no comparison there. This review is for the PC version of Lego Racers 2. The game has lots of potential, but we'll never see it. My 5 year old computer (2.8GHz P4/6600GT) far exceeds this 9 year old game's requirements, and perhaps that is part of the problem. First of all, the sound was a total mess until turned down to medium. Then it still races ahead then stumbles over itself between the beat and melody.
Should not be named as a sequel that suggests an upgrade

Summary: I took this game off my computer. My son and I both got frustrated with the game play. One mistake and you're essentially out of the race. It should have a skill level option to make some aspects easier but it doesn't. As another person indicated, only one person can save a game unlike the old one. Once a race/adventure is over, moving to the next is long and painful.
Summary: My boys, 5 and 8, loved the first game and badgered me to get this one. They were not disappointed. Even I can tell that the graphics are better, and the courses are more sophisticated and exotic. They cracked up when the guy lost his car and had to start running. The 2 boys could also cooperate in the game, which is great. If you don't mind the fact that it is, afterall, just another racing game, you should get it if your kids are this age.
Summary: Now I know a lot of people have given this game bad ratings, some because of install problems, some because they thought it wasn't as good as the original. Well guess what? THEY ARE BOTH GREAT GAMES!!! Lego Racers 1 is my most memorable PC game, the characters, the levels, the fun. And I am a strong fan of the second as well.
Summary: While this is a fun game, it is not as much fun as the first game. The races are more challenging, and that can be either good or bad. My younger children found this game too hard to play and they went back to the LR1. There are not as many options for building cars. Perhaps the biggest drawback is that you cannot save multiple games. Only one person can have a saved game. (You can get around this by having different people log on to Windows XP using different accounts.
Summary: I don't own this game, but I play it with my friend. We just like to drive around for fun. We only race sometimes. The course are absolutley amazing!! It's fun pushing construction cars in the water!! The game isn't about that though. The game might sound childish, but I'm 11 and I still like it. THIS GAME IS GREAT!
Summary: This is like a real race game. But you do not need a Powerhouse pc.It worked well on 3 pcs. (At press time a pc was broken)Does well and a hint hit the fire power up key while the powerups are clcleing.
Summary: I will make this simple. This game is fun. Easy interface. Nice graphics. All ages may apply. Better than the first in many ways. Very detailed levels. Runs smooth on a moderate system. Don't miss this. It won't be available forever! It works on my xp system as well!
Summary: Lego Racers 2 is such a great game! You travel to exciting new worlds: Sandy Bay, Dino Island, Mars, Artic and Xalax, the ultimate racing planet! You start out on Sandy Bay, a lively and cheerful island. You just wish you could leap right into that Lego world. Then, later, you travel to exciting Dino Island, where there are T-rexs, Stegosauruses, Triceratops and Pteronodons running around. Then you go to Mars, a bizzare world where you can talk to aliens.
