Summary: I bought this as a used game... it is in mint condition. The problem is that it was already activated by the original owner. Steam will not allow me to activate the game with this SN under my own steam account.. making this totally useless!!! I have emailed them, sent copies of the game SN etc... no replies... I am so !@%*& angry I will never buy another piece of software that involves Steam.. save your self the time and agrivation...
Summary: Pros: nice box cover, great artwork on cover and on disc, disc makes for great drink coaster cons: no game manual, made in mexico, doesnt install, doesnt play I tried this on 360 rental, but not liking the controls, so bought for pc and was excited to play it. the game wont install without a steam account. i tired to setup a steam account but it failed again and again and again, no reason given on account creation failure. I cannot install or play left 4 dead.
Summary: I played part 2 first. It was a lot of fun. There's tons of weapons (melees and guns). There's also a great variation of special infected. After a while I was tired of the same ol' maps/campaigns. So I bought part 1 to play some new maps. I was also told that part 1 is much better. I played part 1 for like an hour and never played it again. It lack the weapons and special infected that part 2 has.
Summary: I'll never buy another Steam game, NEVER NEVER NEVER. It will simply not install from DVD on XP. According to the web it used to, but it no longer works and forces you to download the entire 6 gig game. Be prepared to wait for hours and hours for something you paid money for already (my download took 21 hours).
Summary: This is what happens when a company gets big...customer service disappears in the pursuit of the almighty buck. This company is no longer about games and gamers, it's three piece suited sharks who see consumers as sheep to be fleeced as quickly as possible. This game will NOT work right out of the box!!! I had to have a computer expert friend of mine find all the fixes and tweaks to get it to play and even then it constantly lags and hangs up.
Summary: The quality of the product sold to me was terrible. I did know Valve Games required a CD Key just to play the game. And there is a Limit of one CD key per registration and this product was used. So this resulted in me wasting 25$ because the game did not even allow me to install it due to the CD key restriction. Selling Used Valve games is a fraud and should be Illegal. So what i bought was just a useless CD.
Summary: Steam or not, it still forces you to connect on-line and register the copy then it's yours. You can't sell it now even though you paid for it. Steam is like SecuRom just dished out differently, but it is still a draconian DRM. I won't buy it.
Summary: My one star is merely for how long the installation and WAITto play the game took once I got it and not the actual game itself. I have a 512K Connection and it was the longest wait ever on a game installation. The only drawback I can see to this game is the lack of variety in weapons. The things like Molotov's, Gas Cans, Propane Tanks are VERY cool.
