Summary: BOO, Reader Rabbit! This DVD-ROM does not work with my iMac running OX 10.6.8. Very disappointing. Also, beware of the 30-day return window for this seller. I was not aware of that, and now, I can't get a refund. My daughter (age 5) loves playing these games at the local library, so I wanted her to be able to play at home. I had the same experience with the 1st and 2nd grade phonics and math ages 6-9 DVDs as well, though all were said to work with both MAC and PC.
Summary: It installed fine on the WinXP machine (Core2 Duo, 2GB RAM) that I gave my four year old. She loved the games and was really learning from them but after a few months the software started to glitch, mostly audio problems at first. I have been unable to correct it by repairing or reinstalling.
Summary: specifically requested W7 compatible and this was not. had to send back and was disappointed with only receiving the shipping fee back. very disappointed. RR products are great teaching/learning tools. the only draw back is that they have not kept up with the times and made all their products compatible with higher platforms.

Summary: I am introducing this computer program to a second generation, my grand daughter. It works well on Windows XP, my grand daughter enjoys it (age 4.5 years) It is repetitive and predictable.I used the Reader Rabbit Reading Programs with my children (now 30-33 yrs) They found them fun and entertaining. I believe it had come with booklets (might have been grades 1& 2). That is not this program. I look forward to moving on to first grade ( the music was cute and catchy).
Summary: although we were told that this DVD would work with the Mac OS X (and it also says it on the cover) my son hasn't been able to even get it to load onto his MAC OS X. So even though it was a Christmas gift, my grandson will only be able to use it at my house on my PC-not quite what I'd planned.
