Cons: Played only about two levels, got tired of it. Went back to give it another try about one month later; nope, still not very much fun. Ditto a month after that. Walk in a straight line, shoot the bad guys who pop up. This game's concept is so poor that the old game Elevator Action was/is more fun. Please, save your money!
Summary: This is mindless arcade shooting at it's best. There are plenty of enemies & nearly everything on screen can be destroyed. The graphics are beautiful & the music tracks are nice. This is stress relief. Forget about squads, blind fire, or anything tactical, there is one tactic, kill everyone that moves (except the jazz band). Tequila effects are fun to experiment with, but get old once ideas run out on how to abuse them.
Pros: Beautiful graphics, Gun play at it's best, Destructible environments, Soundtrack well done, Tequila time, zoom, bombs etc. are fun to execute
Cons: Very linear, Strictly mission to mission, Arcade type of game play, Short for 12+ gigs, Tequila effects (above) get old, Online is a ghost town
Summary: If you liked the movie you will like the game. Lots of action and destruction. I give it a 4 only because of the amount of destruction you can do to each battle area.
Pros: Decent graphics, good mission objectives & storyline
Cons: Like someone mentioned before, very linear game play. If you like to roam around and explore this isn't the game for you. I also wish there were more video options other than just resolution and shaders. Also I have yet to see one person create a match online.
Summary: This is a fine example of what next generation games are going to be like. If other directors make games half as good as this, the gaming world is in for a treat.
Pros: This game is amazing! It is like playing a real life action film. When playing you can really see John Woo's artistic directing style come through in the gameplay, which is definitely a good thing. Speaking of the gameplay, the control is very tight and dead on. The graphics are insane and I experienced no slowdown on my system. Running 2 gigs of memory, C2D E6420 and an MSI 8600 GTS.
Cons: I would have liked to have seen more options for adjusting the graphics properties. However, the "auto-selection" system (I'll call it) does a perfect job and you shouldn't be disapointed.
Conclusion: during a review one of the lead designers said that the Max Payne games got inspiration from the hard boiled film and this (dont know how that works because max payne is much older than this game) and seeing as I really enjoyed the MP games I thought I'd give this a try with great expectations.
Conclusion: I was a little disappointed that you couldn't remap the keys, being left handed it's not easy to use the WASD set up and the demo leaves you no choice in the matter. I just hope you can remap in the full game! Lefties, caveat emptor!
Conclusion: I've just downloaded the demo for the pc of this game and it plays as good if not better than the 360 version with extra control being allowed thru the mouse and keyboard. There are no options to adjust the video settings but you don't need them, it looks and plays very well. You'll probably need a mid to high end pc to play the game smoothly though, my set up is probably mid to high end.
